What a great day yesterday for Mannie - back to back green cycles. I have wanted to try only low LC fuds on one of Mannie's green cycles for some time - just to see how he would respond, knowing that I could intervene if necessary. We gave it a shot yesterday since I was home all day to monitor him. How great it was to be able to control all that went on yesterday with just 3-5% LC foods. As any FYI: anything after his mini-meals are very small portions - not even a full teaspoon. I really liked the consistency, the flatness of the cycles. Well done Mannie - you did really very well. Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand... :-D Last night there was a major breech in nanner security. :o While Mannie was touring the back yard Elsa decided that the nanners were fair game  , and play she did. She was very quiet, but was thoroughly enjoying playing with them. I was able to see Mannie out in the back yard. I'll be damned if he didn't know someone was in his nanners   . The ears perked up, the head pivoted, and off he scurried... into the house, around the corner, and with major attitude approached the offender, staring with that cold icy stare, on the tips of his paws.  Elsa didn't stand a chance. A few whacks ensued :? , and offender slinked away... Mannie proceeded to reclaim his stash: several floor rolls, many rubs, several circles, a few licks, a thousand hugs.    security had been restored. omg  , the Nanner King at his best....   Test feed shoot was good this morning, clean plate club membership intact. The kitty choir made sure I was up - good thing, as it was a little late last night. And yes, we did have a whack-a-thon this morning, after Mannie's test. They were all lined up, waiting fuds, somebody flinched, whacking ensued.   Normalcy in MannieLand. You gotta love it.

Have a great day everyone! I am off shortly to go , providing Mannie's +2 is "up there". Looks OK so far... We are off to another mountain lake today. SWEET!

Kitties - what a party for Junior last night - I LUBS Chicago!! The fuds were soooooooooooo good. Kitchen krew! We did great!!! And the after party - we need to have more of them! Zoe said we could come to her pool today and hangout some. That would be sooooooooooo great. Then back to Rusty's porches. OK Rusty? Oh boy - this is going to be a great day. SWEET! ~~ Mannie

Re: 8/8 Mannie AMPS 196, +1 232

Mannie's nanner stories always put a huge smile on my face.
Enjoy your hike hope Mannie surfs safe #s.

Re: 8/8 Mannie AMPS 196, +1 232

WOW.....what a beautiful thing....all that green and managed with just LC food!! Nicely done, Mannie - and of course Michelle! ;-) ;-) Cute story about Elsa and the nanners....poor thing, she just wanted to play! If we don't pick up Zoe's furry mice before bed, she lets us know by carrying them around the house crying and howling. I think sometimes she hides them, so we don't see them when we head off to bed....then after the house is all quiet she gets them out and starts the crying....drives me nuts! Just gotta luv 'em!

Hey Mannie - Load up the bus.....pool is OPEN!!! Lots of new floaties and noodles....time to relax after a weekend of parties... ~Zoe

Re: 8/8 Mannie AMPS 196, +1 232, +2 254

Hi guys .. beautiful job done with just LC food! I see mannie is creeping up this morning .. hopefully he can turn it around for you .. have a great day guys!

Re: 8/8 Mannie AMPS 196, +1 232, +2 254

Oh my gosh! Poor Mannie! I can just see him stop and whip his head around. It is a little frightening how they just know something like that. Poor Elsa. She just wanted to see what they were all about.

Hope you had a wonderful hike today!!

Re: 8/8 Mannie AMPS 196, +1 232, +2 254

Great cycles! I'm glad you are rethinking the carb loading. I've wondered how mannie would do too.  I going w/ only LC unless Tess is really low (40s) early in the cycle, and then just a drop of syrup. Can't wait to see if this effects the bounce.

Mannie! Oh no! I would never bake with YOUR Nanners! But remember that great stash my bean found? The possibilities are endless! -- Tess

Re: 8/8 Mannie AMPS 196, +1 232, +2 254

Hi Michelle, so funny with Mannie and his nanners. Elsie thought she would take a stab at those nanners while Mannie was outside. Not a chance, huh, with his sense of some sibling disturbing his nanners! What a nice cycle yesterday and seeing how he responds to lc with low numbers. It looks like he gave permission to take that hike, and hope you're having a wonderful day.

Hey Mannie, oh boy, Zoe's pool and then Rusty's porch. sounds like a nice relaxing day. I'll be waiting for you to pick me up, Maggie

Re: 8/8 Mannie AMPS 196, +1 232, +2 254, +11 356

Hi guys - thanks for the visit while I was out having fun! Mannie on the other hand decided he wanted to bounce.... darn it! a 356 @ +11. I had hoped that with just LC on board yesterday that maybe he wouldn't. well carp. I hope he leaves the pinks soon... I did go hike today, and DH fed only LC fuds. He did get two extra feeds, but only a tsp, just to cover my bases while I was gone. so.... I don't think that the +11 is too influenced by fuds. he just bounced. **SIGH**

Hike was fantastic! Another alpine wilderness mountain lake, with a trail that followed one of the bigger creeks. You could hear and see the water for all of the hike. The creek was so great - lots of waterfalls... YAY!! The lake was beautiful - and I kept thinking how this would be perfect in the fall to, as alot of the plants and trees there are the type that change color. I may have to go back in October. :-D :-D     anyways.... hiked about 8 miles, climbed about 1400 feet. YAY!!!

Hi Iorwen - thanks! I love how he owns those nanners - it is so fun to watch. And thanks - Mannie gave me permission, and the hike was fantastic!

Hi Sherry - I gloved yesterday - all of it, a classic curve, all the right colors and numbers. And with only LC - that made me so happy. It is too bad he bounced today, but well... it happens. so I hope he comes down soon. -- and yes on Elsa - she made most of the time she had - really played hard with them - it was as if she knew she'd be busted soon. Too funny with Zoe and the mousies - oh yes: you gotta love it.

Hi Susan - thanks! I had a great time - fun in the sun!

Hi Devon - thanks on yesterday - it was good I gave it a shot, now know what to expect from him, so will continue as such in the future. and yes - he did creep up this morning - bounce mode. well, hope he turns that around tonight...

Hi Melissa - oh I know on Elsa - the poor girl. We were all waiting to see how long it would take Mannie to realize that security had been breached... not long at all... and yes - he knew. and YES: hike was so great!

Hi Ann - that they were! Yep, I've been thinking about it for a while... finally gave it a shot yesterday when I knew I could test him all day. He did very well - so: LC for us from now on, unless the early part of the cycle says otherwise. He got only LC today too, a few extra very small feedings since I was gone, but numbers are still up. I think that if they are going to bounce, not a darn thing you can do about it... I'm just glad that carb loading didn't contribute to it. so with that in mind I hope he will be down tonight. paws crossed!

Hi Ann, and Miss Maggie - yep - that nanner thing last night was really funny. he knew! and yes , yesterday was a very good day for him... today we bounce, but well that's OK. He'll be down soon enough. Thanks too on the hike - it was very very nice. I had a really good time.

Hey Maggie - I thinks so too - nothing beats pool time and then porch time, YAY!! See you soon, I will picks you up. ~~ Mannie

Tess - ok phew!!!!! yes!! I remember that stash - the motherload of nanners - good plan! that would work!! I see some experimenting on the horizon.

Zoe - YES!! We are on our way. I LUBS your pool. Hey - off to Rusty's later today maybe? We can go fishing and stuff. See you soon !! ~~ Mannie

Re: 8/8 Mannie AMPS 196, +1 232, +2 254, +11 356

Mannie's AM cycle yesterday was impressive, but his PM cycle yesterday was AWESOME!!! I mean really, really awesome!!! I think if you continue with the LC only that he'll get used to it and the bouncing will reduce. I really think Mannie can do this!!! Awesome job!!

And Mannie with his sixth sense when it comes to his nanners is too funny. He needs to have a stage act...the all-knowing, all-seeing Mannie the Great!!!

Re: 8/8 Mannie +11 356, PMPS 287

287 @ PMPS... and a 70 point drop for the +11. GO MANNIE!

Hi Patty - thanks - i think so too. I thoroughly enjoyed last night - letter perfect, with a minimal intervention. And I think so too on the fuds. It is nice to know that with him, the LC fuds can get the job done. I hope so on the bounce thing - wouldn't that be cool! -- oh yes on the nanners last night - it was very funny,. and amazing - he truly knew!

And now... trail dust and dried sweat (euwww...) removal, dunner, and then condos!! I have missed you guys!

Re: 8/8 Mannie +11 356, PMPS 287, +2 232

Hi guys, I'm a little late getting to reading up on yesterday's great numbers. Wow, and all on lc food, too!. I too am glad that you are going to give the LC-only routine a whirl. It works for Rusty, is working for Tess, and now it looks like Mannie will do well on it, too.
Michelle, your hike today sounds fantastically beautiful. All those waterfalls must have been lovely.
Elsa needs a stash of nanners for her very own, it seems.

All for now. Loons are calling and the 2/3ds moon is incredible tonight against the dark clouds.

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/8 Mannie +11 356, PMPS 287, +2 232, +3.5 147

147 @ 3.5. wow, and slow down a little Mannie.... I think he misses all those greens from yesterday. That, or after giving me permission to hike today, it's now pay back time for his sitting on the pink floor.

Hi ella - I sure hope so - it woke perfectly yesterday - impressive. Not too sure how I will handle a very low numbers early on in the cycle... we shall see. lately he has been needing less of the higher carb foods, even when very low. I can't remember the last time I used a 18%, it's been 10%, or maybe a 14%. it is nice to see that his needs are changing. for the better I think. --- ahhhhhhh.... the sounds of loons at night - how wonderful! and the moon - the setting must be idyllic, very beautiful to see. What a nice way to wrap up the evening. ENJOY! --- and yes on elsa. i thought of it. what do you think the odds are that Mannie would find them too, add them to his pile...

Re: 8/8 Mannie PMPS 287, +2 232, +3.5 147, +4.5152

  love the Mannie morning story, gave me a good chuckle just imagining Mannie outside knowing someone was messin with his nanners.

Beautiful cycle Mannie had yesterday! Tonight is lookin mighty fine as well. I hope you all have a great evening!

Thanks for the kind words about my grandma Michelle ;-)

Hi Tracy - thanks! yesterday was so great - and he really recovered well tonight. Looks like Maybe a blue surf tonight, which is really oK.
you're welcome on your DGm. I really hope all will be well - what a nasty injury, and I hope healing is speedy. She seems like a wonderful lady.

and as we speak - major nanner napping in progress... been there all night - guess he doesn't want a repeat of last night!

NI NI all... Mannie has the rest of the night off. After yesteryear he could use a few less pokies... and with that +4.5 I don't think he is going anywhere. short of to the nanner pile to resume a much needed sleep, uninterrupted sleep.

NI NI!
