Good morning everyone!

Prayers sent out to all the kitties/beans in need today ..

I don't have much time for condo's today so I wanted to start the loose lips thread to let everyone know I'm thinking about them and their kitties .. hoping to get back on over the weekend to catch some very exciting OTJ parties!

Devon thanks for starting looslips today :mrgreen: I haven't had time to get to any condo's at all and feel bad that I'm missing so much. You guys please let me know if we should visit any condo's.

DH wants to shoot Hef. Keeps hunting his feet at night. Any suggestions?
 
Stinky used to do that REAL bad when he was younger. Nothing we did would stop it....for very long at least. We could only sleep with our feet covered in order to minimize the shock from his teeth and claws. The good news is he did pretty much grow out of it after awhile.

I have a tendency to shake one foot when trying to go to sleep and unfortunately every once in a great while, it's too much of a temptation for him and he starts to nibble on my big toe. but at least it's not those "you're almost asleep and SUDDENLY the cat jumps on you, attaching 10 claws and a bunch of teeth to your ankle" type of thing anymore.

he does still have a foot fetish though as walking across the bedroom is near impossible when he's there because he wants your feet soooooooooo bad. so it's step, untangle Stinky, step, laugh at Stinky as he somersaults across your foot, slowly remove your foot from his mouth, step, ok just give up and let him roll around on your toes for a moment, when he relaxes, move your foot quickly......and then by then, you should have reached the dresser. get what you wanted and repeat back across the room. :lol:
 
hahahaha cindy that is SO Funny! i had to read it to my 19 yr old daughter, who also laughed. i would say you're not being mean enough, except that i am the victim of punkin's licking obsession and i've tried absolutely everything to get him to stop it. i don't think he can. honestly, you move your arm across in front of his face and it's like a magnet that he's drawn to. his head raises up and his tongue comes out. :lol: if you missed the riveting video of punkin's licking, it was in the 8/3 & 8/4 loose lips condo - along with lots of other cute kitty videos!

so now i've given up and made little videos of it! if ya can't beat em, join em! you should video stinky (OMG ON THE NAME!) and put it up so we can laugh at it.

karrie, i'm a thinking you need a 4way locking cat door on your bedroom, and when hef goes out, hef stays out! :lol: :lol: thanks for the suggestion though - i'm actually the 4 way locking cat door here! well, honestly i bought a kitty door for the laundry room door and couldn't get my husband to put it in. it's in parts in the garage at this point.

our cats sleep in the downstairs because my husband has a zero tolerance on being disturbed. well, actually it started with my allergy doctor "YOU LET YOUR CAT SLEEP ON YOUR BED?!" to which i answered "just on the pillow." since i go for allergy shots weekly for years on end, i could see why the dr thought i had one screw loose to let the cat sleep on my bed, so the cat got banned from the bedroom. i'm still sorry about that, however, and when TC was dying i moved her back into our bed. the cats i have now haven't ever slept with us.

hi devon! you should put up some pics/videos of mocha for us! you know you want to. :cool:
 
oh my gosh! Stinky does the licking thing too. for a couple years that's how we went to sleep at night....i get in bed, he gets in bed, spins around a couple times and finally lays down. i wrap my right arm around him and he licks himself to sleep.

jojo used to say we haz flavor. LOL!!

i forgot that alot of people are new enough to not know my Stinky. he has provided lots of entertainment over the last few years here on fdmb as he's just a plain silly boy. we call him our "special" one. LOL!!

i'll have to go thru his videos and see what i've got of him to share

yes, videos please. i've only been on since february so haven't "met" stinky.
 
oh lordy! a friend found him in their car engine one evening after they got in the car and started it. they're not cat people so they called me. i took him and took him to the vet. he was about 3 months old the vet thought. all in all he was ok except a pretty good nick on his nose and his head took the brunt of everything so his brain was swollen, resulting in him being blind. he even had a couple seizures that first evening.

so between being blind and his nose swollen and not working, i had to clean after him as soon as he would go potty. after a few days of 24/7 care for him i didn't wake up once in the middle of the night and he was in sad sad shape when i did. he was covered from head to toe in his own poop. :shock:

while bathing him in the kitchen sink i said to him "god you're stinky!" and the name stuck. :lol:

oh, 3 weeks later his vision came back. :-D we don't think it's 100% but he does pretty good, only occasionally walking off the edge of things still. LOL!!

oh those were so cute! i especially liked jr trying to break stinky out of the laundry basket prison! pretty fun. thanks for sharing.

i know karrie. i'm telling myself that as much as punkin's licking makes me slightly insane, i'm gonna miss it like crazy when he's gone. with this acromegaly i have no idea how much time we have and i'm trying to treasure it as much as i can. maverick was a special kinda kitter.

Lol :lol: Too cute :-D Leroy just does the "bed shark" - he slides under the blanket and slowly slinks around. All you see is a lump slowly moving across the bed :lol: Of course, Emma gets intrigued and has to pounce on top of the moving lump :lol: And that causes Leroy to trill/yelp :lol:

The full moon is still a week away but Leroy is possessed tonight @-) He kept getting up onto the counter to knock a plum onto the floor :roll: And it's the counter by the stove where he burned his paw last year. You'd think he would learn to stay off... oh wait, he has ADD and apparently a (very) short term memory :razz: Fortuntely plum is still unripe so it didn't go splat when it hit the floor several times. The plum is in the cabinet now.

Emma is napping right now.... on the bed. Since I bought her a cushion last weekend she has slept exactly 3 times on it :roll: Leroy ignores it. Squishy never liked pet beds or cushions either. Do some cats just not like or care for their own bed or cushion?

Interesting observation here - neither Leroy or Emma are affected by catnip :o Emma will at least lick up the loose catnip and chew on the toy that was "marinating" in the catnip jar but she doesn't get drooly and stoned like Squishy did. Leroy, being the strange oddball that he is, crinkles his face in disgust at the smell of catnip :shock: Has anyone tried a honeysuckle toy? I heard that cats who don't respond to catnip often rsepond to honeysuckle :?:
