Another yellow start for Trix...

This morning is Trixie's 6th cycle on this dose. Am I correct in assuming she's working on bounces here, and therefore we should not consider increasing her to .75U just yet? It seems so odd that she's suddenly bouncing again, but I guess cats will do what cats will do.

I'm bummed that I haven't even received a ship notification for her feeder yet! I was hoping it would be here by now...

I did, however, receive my first order of syringes from American Diabetic Wholesale yesterday. Very speedy service...it's too bad their price on the strips we use isn't all that great, so I've been getting the strips from DiabeticCare.com. It's unfortunate about Hock's...the one-stop shopping was so easy. The first thing I saw when I opened the box of syringes yesterday was 3 bite-sized candy bars! I thought, "This is some sort of cruel joke!!!"...but then I saw they were sugar-free  !

Any thoughts are appreciated. Have a great Friday!

Amy

Re: 6/17 Trixie AMPS 225 +2 171 - Thoughts?

Good morning Amy! I have no idea on your question. Tarragon seems to be doing the same thing and I can't figure out if it is just taking him awhile to clear the bounce from a few days ago.

Did you get a good price on the syringes? I have been buying them at WalMart and haven't thought about buying them online. They aren't horrible at WalMart, but every little bit counts.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday!!

Re: 6/17 Trixie AMPS 225 +2 171 - Thoughts?

I use the Monoject syringes, and they were less than $16 for 100, but shipping wasn't free because I didn't hit the minimum (which I think was $100). That's where the strip price is a bummer; our strips are just too expensive at ADW, so I'll never be able to hit their minimum by buying strips and syringes at the same time. Still, the price was good...better than what I've seen locally. The WalMart here makes the skin on the back of my neck crawl, and Target's prices were higher than what I see online, so I'd actually rather mail-order the syringes.

I love that you got sugar free chocolate bars, how nice of them. Made me  when you thought they were being cruel though.

No advice on the bounce/insulin thing but I hope Trixie comes down for you.

Have a grand Friday

Hi guys .. no real answer here for your dosing question, but as you know I'm sure others will be here to help you out .. How funny they sent little candy bars that were sugar free  Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Re: 6/17 Trixie AMPS 225 +2 171 - Thoughts?

It looks to me like Trixie is bouncing. I'd see what she does this cycle since it looks like she's clearing the bounce already.

Re: 6/17 Trixie AMPS 225 +2 171

We have really nice WalMart supercenters here and WalMart Neighborhood Markets (grocery stores). I guess because we are so close to Arkansas where they are based. I pay $12.58 for a box of monoject.

Bounce broken  ...

Yeay, our WalMart definitely doesn't qualify as "nice"...you're lucky to have good ones there!

Re: 6/17 Trixie PMPS 177 +2 206 - Dose again?

Trix...watcha doin', li'l HoneyCat?

So...should we pop her up to .75U tomorrow morning? As always, I just want to make sure we're doing the right things at the right times. I've got no problems holding her here if that's what's best for her.

I got a great report back from the vet about my senior civie Mario's bloodwork from the other night. To quote the vet, his thyroid is the best regulated it's ever been, and his kidney values are still in the normal range. His ALT was still slightly elevated, despite the fact that his thyroid is regulated. So, we had the option of starting a liver supplement, or re-check in a month and evaluate from there. Since he's on thyroid meds, BP meds, cosequin, and adequan - all started in the last few months - I opted to re-check in a month and go from there. No doubt I will give him the supplement if he needs it, but he's a bear to pill, and with him I'm not sure if a pill pocket will work with this capsule the vet is talking about. The rest of his bloodwork was completely normal.

As for his high BP from the other night, he's going back in tomorrow for a re-check on that. It's highly possilbe that the high reading was result of stress in combination with timing; he had just taken his BP meds less than an hour before the test. So, they'll check him tomorrow 6 hours after taking his meds. Fingers crossed he'll read much better, but if not, we'll deal with it as necessary.

I was tremendously relieved after speaking with her.

And, Petey's snuffle are starting to fade. Now, if Trixie would stop bouncing around, all would be right over here...

Re: 6/17 Trixie PMPS 177 +2 206 - Dose ?

When you have 6 cats and 4 of them have issues, I guess you're busy. You deserve those sugar-free candy bars (ADW has never sent me candy bars with my order!!). Have a good evening. Sorry I can't help with the dose.

Interesting day for Trixie Cat and glad she broke the bounce!!!

Glad to hear Mario's report and I hope the recheck will show his ALT more normal. Also glad to hear Petey's snufflies are almost gone.

Have a great evening.
