Yesterday's Condo

Morning - I had last evening "off" as I went to the theater to see Mary Poppins - totally delightful & uplifting. It was fun too to see all of the children dressed up - boys in ties, girls in sparkles, all very cute, well behaved, totally enthralled with the spectacular state production.

So Lanky saw the vet tech last night & this morning he grabbed an accidentally-dropped-brother-Bruski's-heart-medicine tabs (1.25 mg Pimobendan) gobbling it up so quickly with a wild-man look in his eyes that I had no time to react expect see the swallow & satisfaction on his face. Lanky too is under observation for heart issues so a one-time dose is not an issue. But good grief - Lanky is such a food motivated kitty - the tab did not even have some PillPocket wrapped around it, it was just raw naked!

So today will be watch & recovery, for both of us.

what a dream to have a cat that eagerly gobbles pills! It's unfortunate that it was the wrong pill, though. I hope Lanky is ok.

I'm giggling because I could actually see something like that happening at my house. Maybe that is the trick to pilling - pretend like you're trying to give it to a different cat, then the REAL target kitty gets jealous and shoves her way in to steal the "treat." Hmmmm....

too funny! punkin spent the first 18 days on AB refusing to eat the pill pockets, and on day 19 he "discovered" them. now i'm just throwing them on the floor - which is a hoot because he was always horrible to pill. who knew those babies would make such a difference!

susan, i don't know how much you read the other condos - but 4 more of our LL cats have been diagnosed with acro in the last 2 weeks: punkin, gus, tommy & bogey. i can't speak for everyone else, but i would welcome your wisdom and experience as i care for punkin.

how was the Mary Poppins play? they're coming to Portland this summer and i've been seeing the ads and thinking that would be fun.
