Champ earned his second dose decrease last night!!! He's either having a bit of a bounce (which is to be expected) or it's a food spike (which is doubtful since it was tuna fish given at +11). I slept for two hours (from 3 am to 5 am), but still had work to do so had to get up. I plan on sleeping as much as possible this weekend. I'm not going to think about all the work that needs to be done around here, or the laundry, or the planting I wanted to do outside. I'm sleeping...if I can remember how to sleep in a bed and keep my eyes shut for longer than two hours at a stretch!!

Unfortunately, I still have one more account that I have to do with a deadline of 10 this morning so I'll have to visit condos after that. Believe me when I say I would much rather visit condos!!

FGIF peeps!! :-D

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422

FGIF? forget it's friday? what does that mean, or is it a typo?

champ - back down boy! you're going the wrong way. no doubt a bounce, patience pants now required to be worn for the next 72 hours. ;-)

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422

Bounce! oh champ, you are giving your momma a run for her money.

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422

Hi guys ... champ, come on back down now ok? We see how high you can go, we are not impressed! I hope you get tons of sleep this weekend .. have a great one!

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422

Ouch to that bounce, hope he clears it quickly.

I just wanted to comment quickly on something:
Patty & Champ said:
Champ is on a relatively high dose of insulin for what most cats are on, though not nearly as much as Punkin, Gus, or Tommy. Now I don't know if I should be worried.
Acromegaly can manifest itself in numerous ways - diabetes is just one possible "side effect", but it's my understanding that it's more a matter of insulin resistance than true diabetes (even though we treat the diabetes aspect much the same way). Since Champ seems to respond well to insulin it does not appear that insulin resistance is an issue with him. Not a professional diagnosis by any means. In fact, I remember Jojo and I discussing that KB probably wasn't acro on the very day we got our positive results back. Champ may still be searching for his breakthrough dose, he's bound to keep you on your toes about it.

I guess my point is - if it ain't broke, don't fix it. For now, I don't think I'd worry. Just focus on Champ and his every day health and attitude. Big cats are sometimes just that - big, lovable, affable, wonderful cats.

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422

WOOT! Another reduction! Champ is on a roll. Sorry I missed all the action again, I'm still catching up from the last couple of weeks. Sometimes I think LL is one grand sleep deprivation experiment! :?

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422

WOOT WOOT for Champs second reduction....I'm so happy for you guys!

Have a very restful weekend Patty!

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422, +2 343, +4 273

Champ's already making his way downstairs. He's really workin it!!! I'm in desperate need of sleep so I'm going to catch a couple hours so my DD and I can go grab some sushi before I have to do the test/feed/shoot at 6:30. I want to visit everyone's condos, but it looks like that will have to wait a bit longer :?

I couldn't have said that better myself Patty! I hope that you get to catch up on your beauty sleep this weekend.
Have a wonderful weekend whatever you do ;-)

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422, +2 343, +4 273

Wow....2 dosecreases in one week....Nice going Champ!! Sleep?? I hear its over-rated! Have a great weekend and look at him clear that bounce....quick!

Re: 6/3 Champ AMPS 422, +2 343, +4 273

Congrats on the dosecrease and sorry I wasn't up with you last night but Mike was keeping an eye out. However you are becoming quite the pro at low numbers!!!! Sometimes, tho, it's just nice to have company.

I so hear you on trying to figure out how to sleep more than two hours at a time. Even when I have the chance, I can rarely do it.....how big of a bummer is that!

Looking good Patty....good luck with the dose reduction! Nice job trying different foods when he's low...that's how you figure out what works. I hope you're getting some sleep....Champ wants you to sleep days and take care of him at night!
