Another great cycle, we are lovin' this !   I am really pooped & today is NOT a BTB day either  Oh well, I can deal with this. Should be getting some lab results back too (IGF-1) & we are very anxious to know the results. Last we heard, still no GH tests being run so that sample is on ice, literally.

Wow, Wednesday already -- hope it is a good one for everyone.

Great start for Lanky. I hope this cycle looks like the last one.

What do you think about being a bit more aggressive with dose? You've been at this dose for a while. Given that Lanky's been through treatment, is there any reason to not get him into more green numbers?

Hi guys, very nice looking number for lanky! I hope that you get the test results soon .. It's hard being patient ALL the time isn't it? :-D have a great day guys!

Lanky has just been thru a dental, a bad reaction to Clavamox, & vomit/diarrhea episodes so I was wanting to let that pass. Then the blue/green numbers started. So now that he is feeling better you still think we should be more aggressive on the dose? Help me understand the logic behind suggestion? I only ask because I understood that Acro-kitty-care needs to be very conservative where green numbers are concerned. When Lanky was 1st diagnosed, I believe it was Carolyn who said beware of green and be prepared with HC food & lots of it because Acro kitties can crash quickly & dramatically once they get going. She also said they are different than regular diabetic kitties because of their working pancreas that is being overwhelmed with insulin-like growth factor and growth hormone. I've tried to keep up with the latest Acro care but have not see too much about it, especially for SRT treated Acro kitties. There is some very interesting info on the FB acro group site in the documents section. Maybe there are some Acro Mom's that could help us think this trough too. This is the best Lanky has EVER done & I sure would like to keep the momentum going but I am hesitant to get too deep into the green.

Thanks for your comments and concern Sienne. I'll appreciate any feedback. Thx again.

Susan,

You might spend some time studying these two spreadsheets. Both of these kitties had SRT and subsequently went OTJ.

Boo
Milo

People were more aggressive with treating acro back when Jojo was still posting on the board. My advice would be to analyze your spreadsheet and try to get an idea of how Lanky responds to carbs. It's not the green number itself that can be scary, it's the possibility that you might have trouble controlling a dropping number. If you are confident in Lanky's carb response, then maybe that is not an issue for you. You have a ton of data from the last few days, and have done a great job of marking feedings on your SS. What is your data telling you?

Here is one of Jazzy's condoswhere I posted my thoughts about treating acromegaly. I had hoped to get a discussion started, but nobody replied.

I was thinking, actually, of Boo when I mentioned dosing. Like Lanky, Boo completed SRT and then went OTJ. This is the way my brain was working -- if the radiotherapy ablates the pituitary tumor, then all you are treating is the FD. GH levels shouldn't be out of whack. There are actually a couple of journal articles that I came across that suggest the same thing. Send me a PM if you want them.
