Happy Sunday Lantus Land. Sending our well wishes to all our ailing kitties and beans.
Gracie cleared her bounce yesterday with one of her Gracie-like slides. Very happy to see that but things are continuing to change with her and it leaves us not knowing how to manage her numbers. It looks to us like all gravy is off limits now....it just gangs up on her. And we're beginning to think the 6% might as well. Another lovely surf last night that I believe we overcarbed even though she got 6% at PMPS and +1 and then we went to 4%. The WN 6% foods have always been one of her regular foods and we've used them when she has lower numbers so we can control the drops and they've helped but now we think it's too much for her. Looks like I should have just used karo at +10. Also...please note...it is not routine to feed +11 but this is something I elected to do with Gracie one other night and last night when she was dropping because she didn't respond to the +8 or +10 feedings. She typically just keeps falling and at 50 at +11, was already on the verge of being in the 40s where I would have had to stall and feed. Now Mike and I are rethinking that and wondering if we just need to see what she will do at this low dose since so many other things have changed....she might just decide to surf that 50 which is very shootable for us. Gracie 101......always a science experiment. We're just not sure about this dose; it seems like it can get her into low numbers which is good but doesn't keep her from the high ones.
Civvie Teddi update: we had to take her off the oral methimazole due to a reaction to it; had her off a couple days and then started her on the transdermal gel form which she got in her right ear on Friday but we can't put in her left ear because it hasn't totally healed from the rash caused by the oral form. So vet said just to put in right ear EOD until left ear is totally healed (using neosporin). But even that little bit of gel upset her tummy as she threw up Friday night when she had stopped after we stopped all methimazole. She can't have I131 due to kidneys so I'm afraid our only option might have to be surgery which is scary..she's 16. We'll see.
We continue to put the backyard back together; today we can move the furniture back on the deck and in the ramada YAY but have a lot of dust to clean off things and mop the patio (big chore). I'll be so glad when we're done with it today. And then I can start redoing my pots....lost all my succulents and cactus last winter in the freeze.
Have a great day!
