Good Morning Lantus Land! ~O) ~O) ~O) + ~O)

Whew....what a wild night weather wise last night. Wind blowing so hard I thought it was a tornado coming through. Woke me up and then kept me up for a bit. ~O) ~O)

Not bad for Attie this morning, but this just might be a bounce from a few of the lows the past few days. We'll see if the blue green streak is going to hold? Breffis, boxes, and bounding this morning. :-D

Last nights summit involved blocking off the kitchen doorway and letting Gary investigate the living room again. All went well for quite some time and even included Gary discovering the roulette wheel...which he played at for a while pretending to be the dealer spinning the ball this way and that. It is good to see him discover play as it means he is finally starting to relax a bit. He ventured onto the beans lap and purred for a while too and appeared to watch TV. (sidenote: at this point he is friendlier than the MudCat and I think he just might end up being a full-lap cat in time).

Atlas finally seemed to have had enough of listening from the other side of the room divider wall and decided to pull a Presidential move and make known he wants da' bean to, "Tear down this wall!" He managed to paw at the divider and send it tumbling down on himself. The fall was broken by the ever vigilant stove making a saving catch, so no meow delegate was hurt.

The the invasion attempt did break the mood of the summit and send everyone back to their respective household lands. As soon as the sturdy guard doors were closed and latched, Attie and MudCat returned to the living room to investigate. Attie went straight to the foster room door and MudCat checked out all the areas where Gary had been. Her roulette wheel was of particular concern and the ball was gently rolled over and over and inspected for scents.

Re: 4/20 Atlas AMPS 168

Cute story :-D I'm so glad Gary is settling in to being a housecat.

Re: 4/20 Atlas AMPS 168

It's fun hearing about the three of them. Gary seems to be settling in nice. I hope Attie shows you some nice blues and greens today.

Re: 4/20 Atlas AMPS 168

Yeah...I though there was a bounce underway...OK...

Cheese Summit Session
4/20/11

As the mediator installed the gated station for the afternoon summit Attie made his way to his chair. Gary, who had been investigating the master perch soon decided to join the delegation. Easy Cheese was shared between the delegates and the gate was partially opened allowing both delegates to feed from the same dish. There was a hiss or two over who got more cheese, but all in all a successful shared plate.

Gary spied the multi-colored cloth ball just out of his reach on the other side of the gate. Attempting to reach it, Attie made of move on the ball startling delegate Gary to retreat. A little encouragement from the lead mediator and Gary returned to play ball at the gate. Purrs could be heard from both delegates.

As the summit continued Attie decided to lay down up against the gate such that Gary could investigate his ears, face, paws, and whiskers. Gary attempted to do just that, but his sniffs tickled making Attie move to look and Gary was startled several times. Gary did not retreat as far each time and soon was trying to 'talk' to Attie within inches of the gate. Delegate Attie, ever the true Statesman, continued to snuggle and purr at the gate. Gary eventually to a calm laid down position and the moment was shared for well over a half hour. ;-)

I am finding Gary doesn't seem to quite have kitty socialization skills either. Interesting development and one I'm not sure how to address?

Re: 4/20 Atlas AMPS 168, +5 226, PMPS 138

Hmmm...that bounce was very short-lived and there was squeeze cheeze late in the cycle...hmmm....

All kitties are taking up the ....I'm cold positions... Looking for and snuggling down into the warm blankets and pillows this evening. Temperatures have been dropping all day and my last visit I had on my winter coat and wool scarf.

Re: 4/20 Atlas AMPS 168, +5 226, PMPS 138

Keep warm, guys!! It's chilly here today too, though not truly cold. Willie and I are basking in front of the heat dish nonetheless!!

Love the updates on the Kitty Summits. Very heartwarming to see Gary is being a lap cat, playing with toys, and not being a giant ball of hiss when it comes to the other kids. Hope you guys have a great night!

Re: 4/20 Atlas AMPS 168, +5 226, PMPS 138, +3 34 (dosing kar

Well there's that reduction I was thought was lurking out there....

Now let's get this managed to more reasonable numbers.

Re: 4/20 Atlas PMPS 138, +3 34, 49, 77

Sorry about that Ronnie...

And then the computer decided to freeze and crash... ohmygod_smile

Good reason to have the stickie printed out for handling low numbers...you never know when the whole shootin' match might just crash. Desktop is gone looks like.

Re: 4/20 Atlas PMPS 138, +3 34, 49, 77

We dosed the karo at the 34.

Tested in 15 and were only at a 49...gave 4FT's of karo on rawbit

Tested again in 15 and now at 77....

If the computer holds...we'll be back in half an hour.

Not sure what buggy-boo got me, but something about a script 5 in IEx.

Odd...I don't use Internet Explorer....?

Ten minutes to go for another test to see if this bump is going to hold?

Re: 4/20 Atlas PMPS 138, +3 34, 49, 77

   a 34 Attie???? I think these summits are agreeing with you. WOW Beth - look at him go! congrats on the reduction. :-D

I am impressed with how well you have done with Gary - I remember the day you snagged from outside - I wondered then if he's ever settle into being a household resident - and look at him now. amazing! You've done so well with him.. And the summits!! I just love those stories. Those two just maybe someday will be good buds.

Good luck tonight - I hope Attie won't keep you up to late. very nice set of numbers.

and good luck too with that weather!

Indeed Michelle I think those two will be buds or at least Attie seems to be making every effort to cajole a kinder less feisty Gary into the "house-colony."

Well looks like the bounce may be underway and time to set the alarms for checks tonight.

Re: 4/20 Atlas PMPS 138, +3 34, 49, 77, +4 111

What good kitties!! Attie and Gary trying to snuggle.

Glad to see Attie out of the basement.

Re: 4/20 Atlas PMPS 138, +3 34, 49, 77, +4 111, +4.5 122

Yeah...wouldn't quite call it snuggle, but we're not fluffed tail and frantic at each other. Gary just is very nervous and I think once he decides you're ok...he'll be fine. Plus I'm not seeing typical cat socialization skills from him, so I dont' think he knows quite what to do around another cat other than be scared of being attacked. confused_cat

Yes Attie is out of the basement. Most likely see a pretty good bounce from this low ball event. Crazy when one thinks about it too much. Attie actually wanted to play after the first feeding of karo...

2.25 too little
2.5 a bit too much
2.5s just right for a while.

Now we dial down to what? 2.25, 2.0?

Re: 4/20 Atlas PMPS 138, +3 34, 49, 77, +4 111, +4.5 122

Great job getting him up but Attie....why to the hundreds? Maybe the karo will wear off and he'll come back down!!! Nice management there!
Love the twist to the acclimation stories!!! Sounds like it won't be to long...paws crossed!

He hasn't thrown a 34 in a very, very long time. I don't think this is karo...I do think it is a bounce underway as you know I'm not all karo happy when I use it. I like him to set-up and surf. Plus if you see an earlier post from me I thought there was a bounce underway this morning, but it dropped out real sudden this afternoon.
Reminded me of an inverse curve of too much insulin, so I thought a low drop was lurking.

Hmmm...that bounce was very short-lived and there was squeeze cheeze late in the cycle...hmmm....

I suspect pinks/reds come morning and taking a few cycles to clear this event up from tonight.

Re: 4/20 Atlas PMPS 138, +3 34, 49, 77, +4 111, +4.5 122

Look at the last post...

A few months ago I would have been furiously impatient about clearing a bounce.

Patience. Understanding and Great Support! Thank you.
