That's so nice to have Devon sleep in, if only til the other cats start rough housing! Congratulations on Day 2! This is so exciting!

I was right, it didn't last long. Devon woke up, saw the clock and came racing out of our room like she had seen a ghost and had 3 Red Bulls, before i was able to tell her Mocha's fine, she doesn't get a shot.

OMG! I can just imagine waking up in a panic!!!
Mocha was just hanging out unaware of any stress!!
Devon will get used to it although old habits die hard--This is one we'd gladly let go :mrgreen:

Me too, on the silly grinning. I am sooooo happy for all four of you I don't remember Devon ever posting about Mocha and Twix chasing and playing. But then, my memory isn't that great. :-D

Thanks guys, for all the encouragement .. I'm not going to test today .. Not sure what I will do .. left the house for a few hours yesterday .. cleaned the house up .. made a cake for my brothers birthday today .. and now since we are going to his house for dinner, I don't even have dinner preparations to think about ... nailbite_smile What did I do before FD?

HI guy's, I didn't realize Mocha had been on insulin for 22 months. WOWIE!!! Mocha, this is so AWESOME!!! I am SOOOOOOO happy for all of you!!! Hope you're having a great day 2!!! :mrgreen:

Yep, mocha has been on insulin for almost two years .. we thought for sure she would be the last kitty out of LTS!

Marjorie, I "overslept" my normal get up time by a half hour, 15 minutes past her old shot time .. I just about fell out of bed head over heels before it dawned on me peter was telling me to relax and she wasn't getting a shot today :lol:

Ok ... we are noticing a trend ... her bg numbers are slightly higher at each test .. This is worrying us .. maybe she was not quite ready for this yet?
 
Devon....go back to yesterday's thread and read what Libby posted to you about higher numbers..... not that a 77 is a high number.
Think back to the very first time Mocha's bg was 77.....I am guessing like most of us you panicked and wanted to or did feed HC and now you want to give her insulin.

77 is a great OTJ number. The reason she was getting numbers in the fifties just a mere 48 hours ago was because she had insulin in her.
Devon, don't make me come over there to remove the insulin and syringes because I will. :lol:
 
Happy day 2 Mocha, Devon, and Peter!!

When Willow first went OTJ, he stayed in the high greens, with a few low blue numbers thrown in just to annoy me. His entire 2.5 years OTJ, he stayed in high greens/low blues very happily. My civvies like the 40's through 90's.
 
Remember your meter can give you a variance up to 20% too. Mocha is doing just fine!

Do you read what we write? Mocha is in normal #s, you are blessed she is giving greens.. many experience blues & that is STILL OK TOO!
I hope you are reading our comments because we are all saying.. over & over & over how great your girl is doing. I encourage you to look at SS of OTJ kitties to compare/contrast.

**I noticed you & Marjorie enjoying the sleeping in.. that never phased me.. what I always enjoyed while Baby was OTJ was the ability to make plans, be gone & not have to worry about a hypo or to get home to shoot!

What an entertaining thread!!!!

When Boomer was doing his trial he got a couple blues and I was freaking out....but a 77? That's a great number.
Just go with it Devon. You can't give her insulin at 77, right? Right. So enjoy this! She's doing great.
 
This is such a happy condo! And sorry Devon but I was giggling at your sudden wake up panic and then your worrying about a BEAUTIFUL green 77. Too funny! But we do understand, really we do. :lol:

It takes a while getting used to ... not testing so often ... I just came down to testing once a day... ;-)
 
Thanks everyone, we know mocha is doing good .. we are just nervous that each am/pmbg test keeps going up .. But trust us, we will not be giving insulin unless told to do so! nailbite_smile
