Yesterday's Condo

I was very happy with Gabby's numbers. She cleared the bounce yesterday within a few hours and it looks like she spent the night surfing in the blues -- just squeeking in under the line this morning.

I woke up this morning and Gabby was sitting in the cubes. I'm not sure whether she had just planted herself there or she'd been there for a bit. Gizmo kept walking around the cubes trying to figure out if he could join her inside without her yelling at him. He'd walk over to the side she was sitting in, stare, walk to the other cube, stick his head in or sometimes lay down with his front end in the cube, get up, walk around...etc. He really was trying to engage her but Gabby was more intent on being the aloof, big sister who would not dare be seen playing with her younger brother (no matter how appealing that might be).

:lol: :lol: What a hoot! There really isn't room in there for two to share unless they are kittens. Even as good hearted as Krueger was with kittens...cube sharing was not on the agenda.

Ginger was in J.D.'s carrier this morning. She loves being inside things. Like my cats need more toys :roll:

Nice Gabby cleared the bounce. Hope she continues to surf nicely without too many dramatics. As for Gizmo, Gabby is just maintaining her position as the "sophistacat" who would not dare perform kitten antics. Have a great day.

Morning. I hope Gabby gives you some nice numbers today. I wonder if Gabby will ever give in and play with Gizmo. It never happened with my GA Siamese and Maggie. Your two are so hilarious with the cubes. Have a nice Sunday.

Nice Blues Gabby! The Cubes are a riot! So far, Raja has claimed both of them although she can only BE in one at a time. Somehow, she has made it known to Shadow that they are HERS and hers alone!
She has 2 baskets, a little warm padded house, two cubes and whatever else she decides she wants at the moment.
He has the top of the cat condo and that's all.
When we first put up the tree, Shadow went under it on the right side. Raja saw him and there was a skirmish. He retreated to the left side and stayed there for the entire time the tree was up. She wanted the right side for some reason and she got it!
Gabby and Raja are Divas....no doubt about it.....

Ann - Gizmo and Gabby occasionally will play. Gabby is much older (she's almost 11 vs. Gizmo going on 2 yo). Their energy levels are very different. Gizmo would be elated if Gabby would play all of the time. Gabby is a big fan of napping.

Karrie - I got Gizmo when he was 12 weeks old. He's a purebred so I have records and I know the breeder. They won't release a kitten until they are at least 12 weeks old because they want to make sure the kittens are properly socialized. Gizmo is obviously very social!!

Pat - I have a cat tree as well. It has 3 levels. At one point, Gabby would hang out in the lowest basket/level of the tree. She's lost interest in the tree with the exception of the trunks, which are a sisal-type rope scratching post. Gizmo, on the other hand, loves the cat tree. He's usually in the top basket - sometimes on the 2nd level. He likes being up high which is very interesting given that he doesn't really jump onto things like counters. Forest Cats typically like heights!

Looks like a double dip today. I'm glad Gabby brought her numbers back down.

Gabby and Gizmo were almost snuggling this afternoon. Gabby's usual spot is on my bed. Gizmo kept coming up to visit and would lay down and nap within inches of Gabby. Of course, he'd also get up and groom her face and ears. Gizmo absolutely adores Gabby. It was all very sweet.
