"Christmas Miracle" http://blogs.catster.com/kitty-news-net ... -building/

Well, Attie was my early wake-up call again today!! It seems he missed his two feeder rotations last night and at about 4am was hungry. So, I got up and checked the feeder...moved the two missed feedings to an open chamber and went btb.

Attie ate and then we had an ensuing spat between Attie and the Mudster.... Attie at 14+ lbs. vs. the Mudster at 7.6#. She was none too happy with him, but I rest well in knowing she is a lithe and agile tortie. Plus, Attie was being a lil stinker and I think he was truly wanting to play and not have a spat. ;-)

Everybody is warm this morning and Attie is patrolling the family room...

To those off to hit the after Christmas Sales...happy bargain hunting! This being a weekend day and snow on the ground...I suspect the sledding & snowboarding hill will be the place to be today! Great temperature for sledding too. Not too cold, but warm enough to make the hill go from snow covered to icy fast...!

What a nice story. Thanks for sharing. :-D

I will not go out to sales..I'll stay home and enjoy the snow, thank you very much. You're going sledding on icy hills? Woo, you must be young.

Come on down, nice and slow, Atlas.

J.D. is 15lbs and has a 10lb calico sister, and they constantly battle for Alpha cat status. Ginger usually wins.

Young at heart!!! I tend to stand around the fire in the garbage can more than on the sled or board these days. Somebody pass the hot chocolate... ~O)

Re: 12/26 Atlas 314, +5 218

What a nice day this is shaping up to be for Attie. Looking good at that +5 there Attie. Nice and slow - surf well!

Love the Xmas miracle story. It is so wonderful when they are found. A similar thing happened to brother several years ago - fire destroyed their appt, cats could not be found. They were so fearful that they had been lost. later that day after all was extinguished they found them, alive and in relatively good shape, in a closet that somehow was spared. It is so heartwarming to hear of stories like yours.

Have a great day today - enjoy all that snow. maybe?

??????????

I am just not understanding any of these numbers. Flat hundred point range?

Is this resistance and should I just go to 3.5u?

I would increase, as long as you are able to monitor. This dose doesn't seem to be doing much and Atlas usually responds to dose increases pretty quickly if he is going to.

Is he feeling ok? Sorry, I haven't been keeping up very well lately but I'm wondering if anything has changed for him recently.

I will take him up a .25u in the morning.

No nothing has really changed except the house is drafty and cold...

no  allowed! It is normal to feel frustrated as the dose goes higher. I remember that feeling very well. I thought I must be doing everything wrong when Lucy's dose kept getting higher as her buddies were going OTJ. But Atlas doesn't care. We just give them the amount of insulin that they need, whether that is 0.1 units or 11 or 31 or none. ((((Beth)))) it's ok.

wow, beth...attie's new avatar pic is great...he looks like he is thriving with you!

sure you didnt mean "pass the Schnapps"?
