Good Morning All,

Very playful kitties this morning despite the 343. Hopefully this will clear quickly with the full potency stuff. Wondering which kitty brought the carb soaked treats last night for the full moon solstice eclipse party of the century! As you can see Attie was still pretty happy at the +6 last night.

Thanks for checking in on our little condo. It was quite a night last night with Attie sliding on the snowboard by the light of the eclipse moon and momma bean not feeling at all well.


Uh? Notter Pawty!!! Tonight!!! Oh man's I be sleepin' off las' nites pawty of the centwury. Twee twimming to at Tess's. Yeah...I be up for dat! Bean is back with Mudster from the vetty...can she come too this time...she kinda stwessed out and smell funny....beans says it was just shots and nuttin' serious~~Attie

He must have heard Sienne asking him to clear his bounce quickly. ;-) I would give him a small snack, it's around +10, right? Give it now or it will be too late to feed.....

It looks like Attie wants to repeat his performance from last night.

ETA: Hmmmm....re test again? What kind of meter are you using? Do you have another meter you could check against?

I also see it's only +8, so no rush to feed. I would recheck and hold off on the snack for now.

Holy cow...what do you think is going on...did you retest (3rd time?) or do you have another meter? Attie...what 'cha doing??? Gotta get in shape for the full moon party at Mannie's tonight.

I retested a third time!!! At 3:18


Look at my spread sheet...I tend to call this stuff a flash drop....but now I am wondering if it is the meter itself.

Relion meter. And yes I do have a spare meter...It is another Relion never used.

This happens or appears to happen sporadically since September. See the condo on 12/18.

I am really so confused.

Is this a panicky liver or is it too much insulin? Not like a 0.25u here or there...but like going back to September to 1.5u?

I would test with the other meter. I have gotten a few wonky readings with my Relion, maybe two or three different times over the 8 months I have used it. I went and got a new battery, thinking that might be the issue, but the battery was fine, and the meter seemed fine after that. I wonder if there might be a problem with the meter you are using....you might want to return it and ask them to replace it.

Is it a micro, confirm, ultima? I use a confirm.

I have to step out and go take care of a client. I'll check back in later. Sometimes I wish we had access to those folks who did the study on Lantus.

The meters are Ultimas.

I would chalk it up to the meter easily if I didn't see the big bounces resulting from the drops either. I'll still switch meters but if Attie is over 500 for PMps...>...

beth, i was getting some weird readings from my relion. i tossed it and went back to my old trusty & reliable freestyle meter after getting these readings on consecutive days:

231 & 148 taken within a second of each other, followed by a 34 three hours later
next day - 28, 95, and 76 taken within 30 seconds (if that) -- thirty minutes later, 118

for the most part, alex is green 24/7. i can't tolerate discrepancies like that when i'm running her in low numbers.

I use accu check aviva & I think it is very reliable--I tried the relion, not as easy..
I agree with Jill, try another meter maybe? That's a LOt of Variance!!

the backup meter battery is dead... ohmygod_smile

A brand spankin' new meter is not in the budget for this month. Plus the more expensive test strips!

But then I got me a red bounce...?
