Mowgli and Keri

Member Since 2010
Morning..
Calling Dr.Doug this morning now that I am around today..
Have fed mowgli about 3oz last night and this morning.... Combination of syringe feeding, and him licking up and eatting some tuna..
his attitude, same....good boy...just wish i knew why he is stubborn..
hope i am not hurting his extraction sites by syringe feeding...doubt it...besides food is most important..

snow storm hit us good yesterday,
roughly knee deep where i live....I am 5'4 btw...
so a good chunk of snow...
i like it, but not so fun to drive in.....too bad the mountain didn't have that much snow!

have a good day all

I'm glad you are syringe feeding, Keri. It is important to make sure he eats enough to prevent other problems.

I'm also glad you are calling Dr. Doug. You need to figure out why he isn't eating and address it. It could be the meds, but it could be something else. Keep us posted, ok?

Re: 12/16 Mowgli AMPS 67-NS

Please remember to ask if post-procedure dental x-rays were taken. I would hope that Dr. Doug will want to see Mowgli. Even if all he tells you is that Mowgli is being stubborn and wants an all-tuna-all-the-time diet, I know I'd certainly feel more relieved to know that there's nothing wrong.

Re: 12/16 Mowgli AMPS 67-NS

still waiting to hear back from Dr.Doug..
will keep you posted...

don't suppose the last few days can be counted as OTJ days, ;-)

well..
i have been told to stop the a/b as well now...
and he gave me mirtazapine 15mg... 1/4 tab every second day for five treatments..
I have not started them yet (though he said to start them tonite) as I thought I would see if the a/b is indeed causing some stomache upset..
So i am thinking if by saturday he is not eatting normally, i will give him one????

Sienne they did not do post procedure xrays.

the mirtz is very powerful....when i've given to my civvie she would begin eating w/in 30 minutes.....it was also interesting that when the vet prescribed it she sd that her colleague had just returned from a conference....he attended one session that included some studies on mirtz....found out it can be given daily now...instead of every 2 days....but i notice that it can stay in my civvie's system for the 2 days.....she would also meow ALOT.....then when my civvie still needed some support w/the mirtz my regular vet gave me 5 pills....so 20 1/4 doses.....he said use it if needed w/o hesitation.....the vet clinic is very up to date w/their medical information.....i'm not a vet so i can't advise you on your situation.....but if your vet said to give it...i myself wouldn't hesitate to give it.....he may only need one pill to jump start his appetite.

I would not hold off on the mirtz. Mowgli needs to start eating. If his tummy is better off the ABs, he'll be eating and you can stop the mirtz. I'd also suggest getting Dr. Doug to take a look at Mowgli's mouth and maybe get a set of Xrays.

Hmmm, I am checking on drug interactions...as I gave a sliver of Zantac when I fed him....I wonder if i can give the mirtz with the zantac...

:o as i speak, of his own will and accord he has gone to the food dishes!!

AND IS EATTING! CAT FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he hasn't eatten much, but he did it!
all on his own!!!!
(zantac in system)

Great news that he is eating. Go Mowgli, be a piggie. Hope you have a good night (now stress free) since he is eating. Sending keep eating vines.

If he's eating and had the Zantac, it's possible that his tummy is queasy from the AB. Either that, or he knows you have mirtz in the house!
