looking better. twinkie still has a herpes type wet cough and sneezing. started back on lysine. I do not give all the time. when sounds better I stop.

libby. wheez seems to be doing ok on bid of 0.05u so far. may have some wonky # for the next 3 days cause he does really well (knock on wood) with shooting and feeding 2-3 hours later.will see how long I can hold off before work

Both boyz look good today. Looks like Beasley bounced a little from his green yesterday, but he didn't bounce to hard (no stinkus pinkus) and was back to blue for his preshot. Maybe he is learning something (shhhhhhhshhhhh).

Poor Twinkletoes got the sniffies. He doesn't have herpes, does he? I'm trying to think if this was an issue, but don't remember if it was or not, and just to lazy right now (plus at tbp and don't have the time), to look. Hope the lysine does it's magic and the sniffles go away.

i usually give it for 3-5 days more after it clears up. no real scientific basis for it, chalk it up to an overparanoid mommybean.

deb, since he is an FIV+ cat he seems to be prone to this. came with the sneezies. bought the big bottle of lysine and give til clears up

I hear ya choy-foong. I do the same. give for a little after all is better. do the same for wheezer but he does not act.flare up as much as Twinkie.

beaslel is fine. I did initially start him on it also when I first got them. BUt he really does not need it so I have stopped quite a while ago

well, I have a problem here. Twinkie has been licking and pulling his hair out and has 3 raw spots on himself. just did his shoulder today while I was at work. already took beef out of his diet in case allergy to that, is there something OTC that I can give him? do not know if it is a "mental" issue or allergy. not scratching entire body though. will upload and post pics in a few

Sorry, can't say anything about raw spots and so. I hope someone else has an answer for you.
I just wanted to say: wow! 2 cat's with fd and stuff. Wow... really. That must be hard.

Oh my that looks like it hurts. Poor Twinkie... I wish he would stop irritating his skin, wow. Sorry Dian wish I knew what to say to help. I took care of FIV+ kitty several years ago, but he never had that problem. (Other stuff, but not that one.) Good luck.

Re: 1/19 Twinkie~+3~65/Beasley~275

well. have a towel around twinks neck and seems to be keeping him form licking and pulling hair out. has not even tried to.
anyway. am gonna lay off so much testing for awhile and do curve or back to normal testing next week. will continue with +3 *definitely for twinkie and +7 feedings. OTB til 11

owww, that looks like it really hurts. Poor Beasley. From what I can see, it's either an allergy or stress, but he shouldn't be stressed at this point...nothing has changed in his world in the past few weeks, have they? Spot had that problem a while back, but it wasn't as bad as that. He was just obsessive about licking his paw where he had the iv in from his last dental. I took him to the vet and she really didn't know what it was, but suggested that I get some of that felaway and spray it on a bandana and put that around his neck. Maybe you can try that, or get one of those things you put around their necks, an e-collar and see if that stops him from licking enough to let the area heal.

Can't think of anything else.....

Hi,
My cat MIKO also same symtom as Twinkie.(linking and pulling hair out). May i know how is Twinkie now? Do you find anything to cure Twinkie.......nice meeting u and hope Twinkie will get well soon. ;-) :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

well, we eventually had to end up with a half dose of depo. the big gun. raised BG significantly but no more itching. wore off about a month ago and or/ reaction to lysine plus chewables ? so gave 1/4 dose depo SQ and was still itching after 8 days so gave another 1/4 dose (hopefully) IM. finally seems to be abating some but needs to be watched. I have a onesy top on him to try and keep him from getting to some spots and it seems to help.
thanks for asking and fingers remain crossed that he continues to improve. we are dealing with the increased BG. had him down to .1-.25u and now n=back up to 2.00u. second time we were so close to being OTJ
