12/04 Milo AMPS 295, PMPS 114, 2.5 94, 3.5 54

At least Milo is under 300 on this cold morning. I'm taking my car in to get some routine maintenance done and then wrapping gifts, so I will be around to get some spot checks today. We are suppose to be traveling to Iowa next weekend for DH's side's family Christmas. I'm not sure how that is going to work yet. Still haven't found anyone who is comfortable giving Milo his shots. Going means he will miss a pm shot and an am shot. It doesn't appear there will be any way to take him with us---don't even know if this would be a good idea..might stress him out even more. We wouldn't even consider going, except DH's granparents are not in the best of health and he hasn't seen them since last year.

Looks like Milo is coming down from that bounce....remember those lovely greens you had the other night Milo? Can you do that again?
Will you be gone before the AMPS that day Kelly? Wondering if you could give a BCS dose and leave food out for him that day. The night shot could be just like a fur shot really. What can you do? Life does happen, right? The most important thing is that he is safe. So, if you can give a little insulin in the morning it would be better than nothing. But, if you have to leave earlier, then you gotta do what you gotta do.
I found my pet sitter online. Not sure what else to suggest...unless your vet has someone that does pet sitting. Have you called there? Milo will get back on track once you get home anyway....but I know how you feel. If taking him with you will be too stressful, then I am not sure what other choices you have...

Looks like Milo is set to have a busy night again. I am hoping the mini-meals will keep him steady. DH and I have been discussing taking Milo with us next weekend and leaving him in the hotel room. We will actually be in the hotel for most of the night, so I could check on him. I just don't know if this would be a good idea or not. WE have never tried to travel with him...

Pat, we will be home for the AM shot and for about an hour afterwards, so I am planning on giving him his shot that mornin, but we will miss the evenings shot and the next morning. I know he will get back on schedule, just feeling like a bad mommy right now.

Fed some LC with HC gravy after 3.5. Testing again in 30. I sure would prefer steady numbers to these big shifts!!!!
