Harley and Pattie

Did not post last night or this AM. Have just been at home taking care of Harley. He is not acting "right". Lethargic, not peeing well, eating about the same. When I look in his eyes, he seems in pain. I will see what happens tonight and he may be spending the holidays in the hospital. With his history, I take no chances. He was ketone free this AM but have not been able to catch him tonight.

Everyone have a good Thanksgiving.

Oh Pattie. You're such a good mombean. Sending extra strong vines and well wishes to your Harley, that he feels better soon, and that he doesn't have to spend the holiday away from you. I hope the vet is wise and knows just what ails Harley and fixes him all up.

Positive thinking ;-)

Pattie, what do you mean by "not peeing well"?
That could be an emergency in a male cat. He is peeing, right?

Yes, he is peeing but not as much as usual. He has had urinary crystals before (went to ER for that)but he is not acting like he did when he had that. It is just not as much.

I'm glad he's not blocked. So, it's a steady stream? Not a bunch of short bursts? Sorry, for being graphic people.
Do you know how to pull up his skin to see if he's dehydrated? I don't know that much, but I know a little.

His skin did not stay tented when I pulled it up. My vet had said that if you pinch it, if it stays, there is dehydration. When he peed it seemed steady - not off and on, just not as much. He has drunk a lot - I have been mixing his food with a lot of water.

Okay, that's good. Hopefully, he's just tired of his bounce, and will be coming down soon, and will feel better once he does.
I really hope you don't have to go to the ER, since regular vets will be closed, but you know your cat best.
I will be keeping Harley in my thoughts and prayers that he snaps out of it and feels all better again, by morning.
Give him a gentle kiss on the top of his head from me, and tell him I am wishing him well.

Oh, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving, too! I hope you can enjoy it with a happy and healthy Harley. My fingers are crossed.
