LL has grown into a very large group and in order to not have it disintegrate into chaos there needs to be order.
you have to help us so that we can help you.
first topic~ Post Titles
* correct: month/day Cat's Name AMPS ###
put the BG number in your post title, not just cat's name, not a color instead of actual number, not your feelings about number instead of actual number.
* if you are posting long after AMPS, do not put AMPS number in post title and most recent number in body of post. do not like seeing AMPS 250 when scrolling down post titles looking to see which condos need attention first and not knowing that in post body it says "AMPS was 250, but now cat is at +1~50"! post title should read for example: "1/16 FatCat AMPS 250, +1~50!", that is a post that will be quickly opened. post title are suppose to reflect where cat is NOW.
* once you get to PMPS, drop the AM numbers from your new post titles.
wrong: 1/16 FatCat AMPS 250, +3~150, +6~100, +8~100, +10~150, PMPS 180, +3~110, +5~98 etc.
post titles that are too long are messy and annoying.
second topic~ Body of Post
* do not forget whole cat report. your cat is more than just a BG number, just like feline diabetes is more than just the numbers. whole cat, is as important as dose on what numbers are looking like. let us know your cat, for example when lisa posted muffin isn't eating much, we know immediately that muffin is really sick because from her posts we know that muffin is one good eater. if sandy posted that BK was just laying around all day not moving much, well from her posts about his crazy energy and well things like this: http://felinediabetes.com/gallery2/v/Sandy+and+Black+Kitty/TP+Terror+-+reduced.JPG.html we would know something is wrong with him.
* posts focus should be about the cat, not the bean. there is an FDMB community forum or the LL YUKU board for that. we have vast knowledge of carmelita, what she eats, her energy levels, her coat, her sensitivity to stress, etc. etc. but know nothing about greg except there is a mrs. greg and that they have nice breakfasts, nor do we need to. shouldn't know more about bean than cat. also do not need to know about a bean's social life except how it impacts diabetic cat management.
* don't make your thread longer than it needs to be. no need to comment back to each person that posts in your condo with an individual post, you CAN combine more than one thought in one post.
* recaps. they are nice.
topic three~ Bump Feature
* please do not bump up old posts! if you want to comment on something posted yesterday cut and paste what you want to comment on into today's condos. (exception: is okay for OTJ parties or GA announcements if you missed it the day before).
* early morning people, scan down and bump up posts that are for today and have gotten buried by some late night action.
* if your condo gets buried and you have an important unanswered question, bump your own condo up! or if you are reading someone's buried condo and see they need help, bump it up. posting a reply on the thread will bump the thread to the top!
* use the 911 icon in your first post of the day for medical emergencies only. please remove it as soon as your emergency has been responded to.
thank you! :mrgreen:
