I did not know what to do this AM so I hope I made the right guess. There was no one in LL to help (5:30 am) so.... Harley had some good numbers last night but was only 101 AMPS. For most of you this is a normal number, but not Harley - he is always much higher.

I did not know what to do about his dose this AM. I am only home until +3 and won't return until +8. I went conservative on his shot. I only went with the 9.5 instead of the 9.75. Hope I guessed right.

Re: 10/19 Harley AMPS 101

I would have done the same in your shoes. You did good.
Nice greens, lately. I hope you can enjoy your day. I know it can be stressful when you have to leave your cat and his numbers are lower than normal for him. Leave out lots of extra food, that's what I do.

Thank you Dyana. It's nice to know someone is around this early. I will leave lots of food - I think LC, right?

Wow...look at those AMPS!! I am glad you left food out for him...
Here is a post from Libby that you might have missed ...look it over and maybe print it out for future reference when you are in this same situation, okay? viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26571
Was that green a surprise to you last night? It is great to see other numbers for Harley....you did one test and got the 90?
With this AMPS, I am left wondering how many other greens he got....
So glad to see this great trend to the nicer numbers.....great job Harley boy!!!

Re: 10/19 Harley AMPS 101

morning, guys! and nice call on the shooting. maybe he'll surprise you and stay on one of the medium ffloors, where real estate is less spendy...but beans can go thru their day without worrying...

Re: 10/19 Harley AMPS 101, +5 40

stopped home quickly between meetings to do a quick bg - Harley was laying on his side. His bg was only 40. I have 30 minutes before I have to leave - what do I do.

Re: 10/19 Harley AMPS 101, +5 40, +5.25 75

ok, I did give some HC food and he gobbled it up. He is at 75. I did leave more HC for him. I know we will reach 400's by tonight and I may have panicked but I am not use to the double digits for Harley. I will have my neighbor come and visit about 1:00 since I won't be home.

Thank you.

I am not real sure what happened today. I know Harley started out lower than normal and I did shoot slightly lighter, 9.5 instead of the 9.75. I took bs at +3 302 and came home quickly between meetings to +5 49. At +5.25 it was 75 and then I had to leave. Could that really have happened? Should I test twice if I get something that low? Now we have bounced to PMPS 302 and hopefully not go further.

Thursday is my meeting with the vet to get her up to speed on the tests I want and how to do them (I have also dreamed she turns me down). I just know she is going to say that the tests will be normal and it is pancreatitis or IBD

It is a good idea to retest any number that seems out of sequence. but he did get the 75 later so I am thinking that it did happen Pattie...
And about your vet...if you are ordering and paying for the tests, she cannot say BEFORE the test results what they will be, right? Do the tests, then look at the results. Good luck with that....remember...you are the customer...and the customer is always right!

I hate when they say things like that. If you could just "know" those things, then why would blood tests have been invented? And I would HATE it if my human doctor tried to treat me based on what she thinks I probably have without running the tests (even though I think the tests are annoying too!).

by the way, I think you made a good decision with the dose this morning.
