WCR: mocha had a poopy number day/night yesterday. It seems to be continuing today. I think tomorrow we will up her dose back up if she doesn't show an improvement in numbers. I noticed as she yawned the other day on the inside of her mouth near her upper back molar on her right side, it appears red (or what I could see of it) I bet she has some tartar/plaque going on again causing some tooth pain. Maybe another FORL. Unfortunately finances prevent us from doing anything about it right now, but we are hoping at income tax time we can get her into our reg vet for another cleaning.

Today will be another busy saturday for us, blood draw this a.m. then have to go find a b-day gift for our niece turning 13 and then cake and ice cream later to celebrate. So it will be hard to stop in condos today. Have a great saturday guys!!

Re: 10/9 mocha amps 298

Morning Mocha hope that number imrpoves for you all, and as for the tartar I am wondering how much it would hurt her numbers if you bought a bag of royal canin oral sensitive this is dry of course but just wondering if a piece or 2 off and on would help the tartar until you can get her teeth cleaned I use it here of course for a non diabetic but it just does wonders for tartar. I know you would not want to use much since it is dry anyway just a random thought. http://www.amazon.com/C-E-T-Enzymatic-H ... d_sbs_k_17 and there is always the dental chews I use these for Do Lou 2x a week.

Time for Mocha to spend some time on the blue floor!!

Lisa -- are you sure about the dry food and dental health? You might want to take a look at Dr. Lisa's website in the dental disease section.

No I am not sure about it just a random thought on what all can help tartar and I know that the oral sensitive is good for this but I had only meant a piece or 2 as a treat of course I have no idea of the carbs involved so one would have to do their homework on this before considering I do not know how carb sensitive Mocha might be its early and so just had tartar on my brain you know I do not even know the carb content of the treats either but they seem to agree with DL

There's always brushing. it really isn't as bad as it sounds. Just take it really slow and get her used to each step.

Re: 10/9 mocha amps 298

Oh boy...you are living dangerously...brazenly listing the things you have to do today. <sigh> I HOPE Mocha didn't read your condo this morning. It used to be she would do silly things with her numbers when she knew you had to leave...
Hope things go well today...enjoy he birthday party!

Re: 10/9 mocha amps 298

Enjoy your party tonight, and a happy birthday to your niece.
Mocha be good, lets see some blues today

Re: 10/9 mocha amps 298

Mocha's got lots of company today on the yellow floor.
Hope you're enjoying your day, Devon. I know you're working, but you enjoy baking, so it's enjoyable, right?

guess the threat worked .. she surfed the low 60 for the last few hours. Feeding her MC at her pmps instead of her normal LC. Will do spot checks obviously.

As far as brushing her teeth and doing dental treats .... we were "brushing" her teeth the best she would let us (her licking the toothpaste off the brush) and we do dental treats a few times each week. We stopped brushing her teeth a month or so back when her neck broke out in a rash because we wanted to drop anything that might have given her an allergic reaction (plastic autofeeder, toothpaste, etc) And unfortunately we never got back into the habit of giving her the paste to lick. We probably should start back up though.
