Re: 9/26 Sooty AMPS 353

Looking back in th SS over the last 3 days for which there is good data, his AM Nadir looks (to my unskilled eye!) like it's somewhere between +3 and +4 (would you agree?), so I'd like to please ask for any advice as to when best to test his BGs today?
I'd rather like to minimize his testing somewhat today as I feel like his ears must need a bit of a rest... (or is it just me?)

Thanks for any advice, LL peeps! @-)

Re: 9/26 Sooty AMPS 353

It would be good to alternate testing hours from the previous day...so I see that a +4, +6 and maybe a +8 would be good. Is this the only day you have to do a curve? I would take advantage of that time to do so then....IMHO.
You are doing great! Good data is always nice to have! (but then again, I am not afraid to test often myself....)

Thanks! that's just what I was looking for...
No it's not the only day we can test but weekends are the best opportunity for us... so I will do +4,6,8 today - I doubt PMs are really so needed just yet, while he's still mostly well into the yellow and pink?

thank you for getting all these tests in, it's so much easier to see what is going on when there is plenty of data.

I think you are good to increase tonight if you want to. I would go to 1.75 as the next step.

Au contraire, thank you! (all)! it's really only thanks to all the help we've been getting here on FDMB, that I feel we are finally getting some kind of a handle on this!
I shall go to 1.75 PM today (8PM) - unless I should hear any compelling reasons, from anyone, not to!

Thanks again - !! :-D (you know I really wish there was a "fingers crossed" smiley!)

cheers!

Not quite sure why the big drop in PMPS, unless it was the afternoon food (Tuna, 5oz can, split into 2 X 2.5 oz portions)?

I would encourage you to start testing in the PM cycle. Cats often have lower numbers at night. This is also the lowest pre-shot number you've seen. We generally suggest that when you're shooting lower than you have previously, especially since your PMPS is lower than your +6, to get a +1 and a +2. In a perfect curve, your +1 would be higher than your PMPS due to the influence of food. The +2 should be about the same as your PMPS. If they are lower, you will want to think about getting more tests in this cycle.

OK yes that makes sense... we do normally feed him after his PM shot and leave food out at night but it's often not all gone by the morning...
