Murphy 9/25/10 AMPS: 266/PMPS: 172

Well, I am questioning the One Touch Meter. Something didn't seem right to me, so I used my new Freestyle Lite meter. The yellow highlighted areas are where I was using the OTU 2 meter, as well as the pink. The blue are the times I used the FS Lite meter. I think Murphy was getting negative test results from the OTU meter. It was given to me by my doctor last year, and I did not know it needed control solution, it was a used meter come to find out and I recall that it did not even have the pamphlet for the meter and did not come in a box. Oh, Brother!!! So, I think I will do a double-test for a few more times to see the difference. When I did the PMPS tonight, I got 270 with the OTU and 172 with the FS Lite meter. Huge difference. Will report back in a few hours how Murphy's #s look after she eats dindin. Vet is impressed with her recovery so far. She is actually almost off her hocks, can you believe it?

I have found my Freestyle Freedom meter to read lower than my other meters, especially in high numbers. In low numbers they are closer together, and that's what matters most anyway.

I saw in your other post that you are in SC. Where are you? I'm in the Charleston area.

Can you get a +1 and a +2 this evening?

I'll get a +2 and a +4 tonight. She's napping right now and I don't want to wake her. Well, the OTU 2 meter was reading almost 100 points higher. I called LifeScan and they are shipping me a new one because this one my doctor gave me last year when I had my thyroid cancer and went into metabolic syndrome. My guess is that it was used already and it never had any control solution. So, at least I have the new Freestyle Lite to work with for a few days. I knew something wasn't right.

She seems to be doing well, although I hate giving her the Ivermectin for her d. cati. She can't have the lime dips though because of the asthma. Poor baby, shots here, pricks there, more shots, more shots!!!

Well, +2, she is at 206. I think the OTU meter is bad. I'll keep using the Freestyle Lite meter for a few days to see if I'm getting accurate results. So far, so good.
