I am supposed to call the vet back at 9am. got the runaround from the vet tech....
"Where do you get her BGs tested?
You haven't gotten new insulin since '09.
Call back when the vet is here".

uh-oh...just got a call back from suddenly sweet-as-pie Deb (wow what a coincidence, Deb!! LOL) She said that the Doctor will see me at 10:45~~they JUST got a cancellation!! RIIIght...well, no matter why I am suddenly getting in to see the vet....

The vet is a young woman who just graduated in the spring of '09. She hates it when people do not want to deal with the issues of their pets. They want a quick fix or else they walk away. She giggles when I am all frazzled and out of breath from lugging in my two carriers with my two little darlings. This doctor never heard of Levemir but she listened and wrote the script. She stared bugged eyed when I asked that Convenia NOT be given...it's in our files now. It's a miracle drug said she....wonder what she thinks after the paperwork I dropped off after our last visit. I dropped off print outs of their BGs. Don't know if she ever met anyone like me (like all of YOU too...FD victims who are working so hard at this dance) Obviously, she knew that something is up when I want to bring Raja in today.

I feel so much better that we have an appointment. Usually, you can bring them in between 8-9am for bloodwork but I must prefer seeing the doctor before we do the tests. She had said something about bladder stones if the ABs didn't clear up the infection...actually, there was trace blood and not an infection in August.

Hope they will be able to get the urine....hope this isn't something awful...this is the worst time, isn't it? The wondering beforehand. Thinking of all the possibilities. Well, I am going to NOT think about anything right now. There is no point in spinning my wheels over the unknown. I will conserve my emotional energy for later when I might need it. This is probably the first time someone brought in their kitty when no symptoms were present. Her only symptom is her elevated BGs. No outward symptoms of anything.

So, anyone have any extra vetty vines for us? :mrgreen: I know you do...there's always more love to spread around with you guys....I thank you all again for everything you have done for us.... :YMHUG:

and here comes a ton of vetty vines - and healing vines - and good vibes! Hear ya on all the vet stuff - they too look at me when I come in for this and that. I remember the last time I dropped off Mannie's BG chart - comment was: geez - you don't have to test so much - and 200's are good enough numbers. :shock: I then proceeded to educate them. :? I hope all goes well for Raja, and they can determine why the BG's are elevated. Good luck! oh - LOVED the run-around from the vet tech - classic.

Thank goodness there is a big party tonight...this has been quite a day. We had that woman come over today..the petsitter for the following weekend. I showed her how I test Shadow and talked about the food and whatnot. She will come back again either Monday or Tues to try doing the testing herself. She never knew anyone who did that before. She seems very nice. (but she didn't volunteer to come over for a 3am test each night) :lol:
I feel a little better about things after meeting her. BUT, it still would be a heck of a lot easier if I could just stay home.

My whole family will be there. My DD who moved to Oregon will be there and my Dd who lives here will be going too. It sounded like such a great idea 6 months ago.... :lol:

Shadow was very nice...Raja sniffed her hand and then split to the other side of the room. She has just about had it with strange women today after the vet trip. Shadow never hissed at Raja at all...but came up to her and liked her head when we got home. He is so sweet. Shot for both of them tonight...how did I DO that before???

Sorry you have been going through such rough times. I know your sense of humor and the support of your friends here will get you through all this. I am thinking of you and sending many vines.



Bear Man and Teddy have already headed out for the party. You know how Bear likes to set up early on his bar stool. I know he wants to talk to Raja a little bit, because he has been there/done that with the whole UTI/vet/ab thing, and he wants to let Raja know that everything will be OK. Both boys have a few tips for Raja and Shadow on how to wrap a petsitter around their little claws.



I hope the Harvest Moon party cheers you up a bit. I don't think you will be able to help but smile when you see some of the costumes and antics.

SO glad I didn't up his dose yesterday. the Moon King is doing better now. Last full moon, he went to 31 that night I think...if I recall...Alex went to 44 and Putty and Mannie were also diving...woo-woo...don't ya just love the suspense? what WILL they do?
Shadow is looking pretty dapper in his tuxedo...wondering where Duchess is....and Raja is wearing the red dress from Binks...what a time this will be! :mrgreen:

At nightfall, the kitties began arriving by moonbeams from across the land....dressed in their formal attire, they were far more serious than usual as they greeted each other with warm hugs.. Bear Man knew they were anxious to begin so he took the stage. The crowd quieted down as he began his speech. Bear Man talked of the harvest that is plentiful. But he said that it was not only by food that we live. The source of our real life is the love that we share with each other. He lead them, as always, in a prayer for those who have gone ahead and they all took quite a few moments remembering their darling ones who are no longer in their midst.

Moonie and Shadow then began their traditional Moondance to a silent and spellbound audience. They then asked everyone to join them in a special Harvest Moon Waltz. The kitties glided across the floor, swaying to the music as the moonlight kissed their beautiful faces. They all look so amazing in their beautiful suits and dresses...

Then Bear Man suggested they should begin the delicious buffet...at which point, they all began chattering and giggling a they grabbed their plates. The food was so delicious and the way the table looked was like a picture! Stu and the kitchen staff outdid themselves once again. They just keep getting better and better, which is hard to imagine because each party meal is absolutely perfect!! And yet Stu manages to make "perfect" even more perfect each time!

Bear Man and Raja went to have a special talk by the bar, and Teddy talked to Shadow at length...I think it had to do with the pet sitter but I'm not sure. Introductions of all the newcomers were made and they all felt at ease with the whole group. The laughter was like tinkling bells across the canal....they love being together so very much. And then Binks started walking over to where I was hiding so I had to split. I don't want them to know I eavesdrop on their parties. I do so wish I could be there in the middle of the crowd. They are having so much fun! Please don't tell them I told you anything, okay?
