Copper is in the vet, went pretty easily, but Moonie will NOT eat!!!-Her numbers are dropping, as she got very upset when we took him in---So now she isnt eating!
I will do a +3 to see where she is. She may need some feeding if she keeps dropping!
I feel so anxious, but, Moonie is determined to keep my mind off it!! ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile
I will be calling the vet at about 2pm--Have a good day all!

You are going to have to talk to Moonie...poor baby is worried about her brother....
Come on Moonie...eat...Copper is getting his teeth cleaned...it will be okay...
Don't forget to get the vet smell off him when he comes home Roni....she will have a hissy fit when she smells him!!!

Just fed Moonie a tsp of MC w/gravy to keep her numbers up & hoping she'll hop on the surfboard!!
Guess she needs TLC today(and some carbs) to keep her spirits & her numbers up!
Be back in a half!

Moonie and Tess are in cahoots today. Tess wants to catch up on all the surfing and cooking. They are definitely keeping our minds occupied.

when you have your mind on Copper and his dental.

I hope she has a nice surf for you without too much drama and

Poor Moonie - worried about Copper - nice in a way she does worry - not so nice when she won't eat because she's worried. Moonie - come on now, chow down girl. Copper will be back soon.

Nice numbers though - green is good. Well maybe it's good that she is keeping you busy - less stress over Copper?

Moonie! I gotta eat too - I just went scuba diving sort of, now my bean is stressing and giving me food. Lets surf - maybe we can catch some good stuff to eat while we are out there. See you Soon!! ~~ Mannie

Awwwww, Moonie's worried about Copper.

She seems to have hopped up on the surfboard, good thing you live near the beach. :)

OK she came up & is on the surfboard :mrgreen: She finally came out of the cat napper--I fed her another tsp of MC to keep her surfing!
Maybe all will be well after all today!! Think my boy is getting his dental right now!! Be safe Baby Boy!

She dropped as we were lying togther in the sun!!! Geez she is really trying to take my mind off Copper!!! EEEKKK!
FED HC now several tsps. hope it will bring her back up to a good number..Her nadir is usually about now!!!
Havent heard anything--Calling vet at 2pm as they said!

Moonie, come on and Surf w/ Mannie an me! You gotta get up a little or your mom won't let you come. Copper will be good, i get dentals every year an , boy, does mom spoil me when I get home. You can bring him a bouquet of pretty leaves from Stu's. Mannie will bring his meter so the moms won't stress. But you gotta get up first. -- Tess

Not eating anymore wet food, giving her some temptations to keep her up--Where is she going today?
Called vet--She is pulling teeth as we speak--My poor baby!

You sound like me today... more HC, and the little bugger just didn't want to leave the 40's. had to bring out the karo... 2 hours later and we are only in the 50's. what is up with these kitties today. Come on Monnie - up you go!

Oh poor Copper! But he will feel better in the long run.

Moonie- up you go so you can come with us! I have my meter - we will keep good tabs on you so your bean won't worry. It will make you feel better and get your mind off of Copper - no need to worry! See you soon, OK? ~~ Mannie

Roni surfing the 60's is very good. She is in healing numbers. You don't have to bring her up any more she is fine to surf. She has had two numbers in the 60's so you could wait an hour to retest or if you are not comfortable retest in 30 minutes but these are very good numbers.

edited to add....if you have not given tempations don't. The high carb will stay in her system too long.

Keep us posted on Copper.

Do you think Moonie is past her nadir? She is actually at some pretty nice numbers, it would be great if she could just surf here.

At +7~117--Yes Miriam I am functioning on a very high stress level today and wasnt thinking when I gave her the 7 temptations--It was not so smart, but at this point.
I have eaten 2 choc.raspberry brownies & a bite of coconut custard pie(DH ate the rest TG) so I'm on a sugar high & stress defcon 5!!

Copper's vet called & he had 7 extractions--- all 4 canines + others.--His teeth were bad and at first she wasnt going to take out the upper canines(maybe thinking of a specialist) but when she scaled them right after that, she said they were very bad & came out very easily!!--My Poor Boy~~~ :sad:
She asked about the metacam which she said reduces the inflammation, but I said even though he may have some inflammation, I would rather they not give it--She said OK--giving me 3 days of Bupe & I guess AB's --But she said he will feel so much better now- Me--I'm shot after this day!! @-) @-) @-)
Hope he isnt in a lot of pain--My baby, he never had any procedures, except sub Q's once--
OK now it is almost behind us!!
I'll be glad this day will be over!

YAY! Copper is all done and can come home soon. I am glad you said no to metacam. He will be fine - don't worry! You will have to fill in Moonie so she knows he is OK.

ohmygod_smile on the brownies and the pie. you rock girl! I'd be bouncing off the walls if I did that. breathe now OK _ Copper is fine, and will feel so much better when all is said and done.

Aww...poor Copper. I am sure after a couple of days he will feel so much better without those bad teeth.

Biggest, biggest hugs to you, Moonie and Copper. I hope he recovers quickly and Moonie's sweet little self starts to eat when Copper is all better. They have such love for each other, when the other is not there they are not okay. Napoleon will "melt down" that is what I call it when he can't see/find Bella. He screams and whines and won't stop till I place her in front of him. I hope you and your nerves can get some rest and wake up to 2 very healthy, happy, no surprises kitties tomorrow! I know Copper will feel so much better with those infected teeth out, it will make a world of difference! :YMHUG:

Wow, you've had quite the day Roni! Stressful but beautiful surf for Moonie! And glad to hear the vet got all those bad teeth out. Emma's never had a dental either - I'm a little nervous to go down that road nailbite_smile

What a day you've had....let's see...I think we call them "challenges" instead of problems :lol: I'm with you on the sweets. Our neighbor brought us 1/2 of a German Choc cake (my fav) on Sat and I could have just eaten all the icing but one piece and I was so sugar highed that DH had to hide the cake :YMSIGH: He's a good man, though...he lives with me!

So glad you nixed the metacam!! Poor Copper..his little mouth will be so sore! Buprenex will really help; our Gussie just had two extractions and it took him about two days to start feeling like his old self. ABs very good!!

Moonie...poor darlin'..but your brother will be home soon..so you did good surfing a bit even tho you scared Mom!

What an amazing group of people...I never cease to be amazed at your support of all the others.

So how many teeth does Copper have left? Poor lil thing. I hope he clears out from the anesthesia quickly.

Copper is still at the vets--They said he is still groggy & bleeding from the mouth!!! Wrapped in a blanket! They want to keep him till they close at 7:15 pm-
I am sooooo Upset! Did they do something wrong? I am so worried--Vet will call when she is done with her appts..

Vet called--We are picking him up about an hour from now-No stitches..still groggy--Cant wait to get my boy!!

It's better they keep him there longer, imagine how nuts you'd be if he started bleeding late at night? He just had four teeth pulled, it can be bloody. One more hour and you'll have him back, he'll be ok. I expect it will be a late night at your house. :(

wow! What a crazy day! Im sure you will be glad to have your boy back at home .. theres nothing like being at home to start feeling better, especially when they have such a good mommabean like you!!

Copper had 7 extractions and no stitches? That can't be possible. You're also going to need more than 3 days of bupe. My vet gives at least 5 days of pain meds.

Also, think baby food. Much easier to eat for the next day or two.

Hope Copper is doing well. I know you will be so glad to get him home. Baby food would probably be easier for him too. and small meals at first - let his tummy settle after anesthesia.

He is HOME!!! He looks so different without his fangs!! Like a real handsome cat!
Got 3 days of Bupe, and many of the teeth were nubs and half hanging out two had holes in them :o :o ..I wasnt about to insist that the vet stitch him up!! It was all already done.--He isnt even bleeding or anything..
If I need more bupe, I can certainly get it--I will be in the area in a couple of days!
He is very hungry & I'm giving hm watered down FF, which he loves--I'm making some chicken in the blender & maybe some beef--
He has eaten about 4 tsp so far. Up on his fav perch, he seems good. I will sleep in this room with him & may give bupe if he needs tonite--

Welcome home Copper. I hope that bupe gets rid of the pain. Now everyone needs to cuddle up and nap and put this day behind them.
 
Roni, what a day you have had! I thought about you a lot and hoped that Copper's dental was going well. Boy, that's a lot of bad teeth! We are sending bunches of healing vines and nice, cool snowflakes to put on those gums. Stu will be by tomorrow to make some chicken soup for your boy. Moonie, in the meantime, did her best to distract you!!!
Just read your latest post as I was writing this and see that you are home and that Copper is OK and hungry! Atta boy, Copper! Have a good night, all of you. We are proud of you all!!

Moonie is up in the cat napper not eating even since I gave her her shot, & looks like Yoda/Cheshire cat up there staring at me--Or is that Glaring at me??
Not eating again!--OK Is she nuts or jealous??--Cant figure her out today!
Will try the blender to make him some Really ground chicken! and maybe some steak?--Baby food I will get tomorrow-

Will Moonie do another dive tonite? Geez, I had enough drama today!!!!!!!
 
Roni, it's not surprising that Moonie is upset, even with Copper home. He smells vetty. That always upsets my cats.

Glad the roots weren't so deep...poor boy. He is going to feel so good in a couple of days when the welling goes down and the tenderness diminishes....
Good job today Roni! I hope Moonie settles down...where does she think he went, Disneyworld? LOL
