Happy Caturday to Lantus Landers Old and New. It's a work day for me, sort of a Wednursday or Thursnesday, somewhere in there. Bear Man has had some backslidage in his flare recovery this past week. Appy is MIA again, and he has been struggling with vomiting and liquipoo. Two medication initiatives are underway that are making me nervous. I have doubled his phosphorus binder, and he may not be tolerating it. I think he is now getting more binder than actual food. The second initiative has me terrified. The vet is bound and determined to get him off Baytril (background: he has been on Baytril continuously for a very long time due to a history of recurrent pyelonephritis). The vet thinks the neurotoxicity may be contributing to his focal seizures. First we halved the dose (which was also required due to his weight loss), and now we are doing pulse dosing: one week on, and one week off. We are currently in the off phase. I do not like this, no I do not. I don't think that even an Energizer bunnybear has another recovery from pyelonephritis in him.

Yesterday I came home from tbp, and although he had been sick during the day, he seemed comfortable enough to nibble a bit of renal kibble without prompting, wash his face, and enjoy a breeze coming through the window. I took some photos in preparation for his Old Timer condo, and posed him next to his nanner. He's still not a fan. He does the same thing with the nanner as he does when I put a dish of food in front of him: he delicately averts his gaze in mild disgust:

Hey Bear Man! How you doing! It's me Mannie. I miss you buddy! You be good, and maybe sometime I can come and visit you. See you ! ~~ Mannie

Hi Linda - my Saturday is now complete - I have read a bear man report. I wish I could help with all that is going on with him, but it is all so beyond my knowledge base. I wish him well, and hope the new changes go well for him. Nice though that there are times when he will eat, wash, and enjoy. Love the photos - and the forge the nanner look.

have a great caturday - many hugs sent to Bear Man.

Sorry about the meds situation :( Let's not worry until we have to.....one day at a time. ((((((Linda))))))

Maybe Bear Man is just too sophisticated for a nanner? Perhaps a cigar would be more to his liking?

I think he will look most dashing with a fancy catnip stogie. I know, it looks like poo, but it's not!

Typical Jackie comment he? Looks like pooh... LOLOLOL

((Linda)) So good to read your Bean man report. I know nothing of the issues you guys face, but I know that you are on top o it all...as per your usual. YOU are such a good Mama Bean to your babies...you are such an inspiration to us all here. o:-) They are so lucky to have you to care for them....you are doing such a wonderful job!

I do hope you will remind your brood that this Thursday is the fll_moon I take that back....THEY already know about it...but YOU might need a reminder in case you look up and there is no one home that night! Sept 23 Harvest Moon Party!!
Hope you all have a good weekend~~any good eats from your kitchen tonight? Beef Stew perhaps? that crock pot brings luscious aromas to arouse the appetite.... ;-)
Hugs to you all :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Nice to hear that you are still the best momma bean ever--Those are such lucky cats to have you!!
Moonie & Copper love the cigar, and it's easier to grip that the nanner, which is bent :? --
Sending Feel Good vibes to your Kitties & Bear Man, Hugs from Us!!

Happy Caturday to you and Bear Man.
I always love seeing new pictures of him, he is just such a handsome man.
He is so lucky to have you devote the love and attention you have.

((((Linda)))) ((Bearman))))
Thanks for the caturday report and the beautiful pictures. They are beautiful even if Bear really doesn't care to be in them. Considering Bear's class and newly acquired king carriage, I agree with Jackie, perhaps a more sophisticated nanner is required... :-D

I love reading the Bear Man reports!
(I don't always comment but I always look for them )
I really hope getting off the Baytril ends up being a good thing... (((Linda))) I can imagine how worried you are .
As always I'll be keeping you in my thoughts!

come on, Bear, keep eating, it makes your mum verra happy. Sorry about the new worries, Linda, but your vet seems to be on the ball so maybe this will be a good thing.

I'm also very worried about Emily's walking. She's on Adequan, Cosequin, Omega oils, and Gabapentin for pain. She is obviously very overweight  She is having so much difficulty walking. I'm afraid that soon she may not be able to walk at all  Any ideas welcome.

aw sorry Linda
what does the vet say about Emily?
i don't know about the meds but would a little massage on her legs help? get the circulation going?

Thank you for posting a Bear Man report.
Love his pics as always ((((hugs))))

Hi Linda. Such beautiful pictures of the Bear Man. To me he has a Rhett Butler kind of quality. I can see him more with the stogie as well. By the way where did you find the nanner? I've looked all over but haven't found a Canadian seller. I just can't see paying a fortune by ordering it from the States.

I hope Bears appetite continues to improve and that the med changes go without a hitch. I know you must be so worried about them. Hang in there . As always you are doing a wonderful job with your furbabies.
