Last night we had a huge game of chase going on. All three cats hunting, stalking, and chasing each other around. In between the house plants, up to the back of the chair, up to the top of the entertainment system...then dash away all. Down the basement steps, back up to the fireplace hearth.....oh look there's the cat tree let's all scratch up big time.

This morning the cool autumn air is here. Some tree's are starting to loose their green up on the tops and edges... All the kitties are snuggled down in their warm spots and beds.

The home is old and when I put the furnace on...it smells like mice have nested in the ducts. So, off goes the furnace and on goes the sweaters and lap blankets. Perhaps Weds or Thurs I will have time to do some disassemble to locate the source of the stench! We baited a few weeks ago as old houses are hard to seal up and the cats told me the mice were already moving in. So we'll do a walk around the house too, but it is the crawl space that is the most likely entry point and that is well baited with rodent blocks.

Attie looks like he may have surfed the blues and yellows last night, but we have quite the bounce this morning.

Home from work and more pink numbers.

I wish I could understand what is going on. I had to send the spread sheet to the vet tonight...I don't think this will be a good conversation tomorrow.

All I can do is wait to see what he says.

Weds. The shelter is coming to take pictures to get Atlas up on the website for adoption.

Time to start letting go... cat_pet_icon

Maybe that is what's wrong with me...why I feel so very, very blue. I've been a bit teary eyed thinking about it, but perhaps it is a little more than that too.

((((Blue))))

remember that if he leaves, it is because he found an awesome home of his very own. You're the one who got him ready for that. And, if he leaves, that opens up space for you to help another one. I know you're not new to fostering (I am) - my friend who has fostered over 400 cats says that each time she closes the carrier door on a cat going home, she pictures a cage door opening at the shelter and another cat getting out of a cage to come to her.

Of course, fine example I am, taking as my first foster a cat who is likely to never be adopted...

Pat, really nothing to be sorry about....

He is making it and he will get a great furrrevvverr home!

And yes Libby, it makes room for a few of the hundred that are stuck in the kennel cage...

to learn to trust, socialize, purr, love.

Atlas has just been a huge project from the night they told me to take him home and make him comfortable for however long he had left... That is sad.

Today he has a chance. I had hoped the Lantus would help stabilize his diabetes better. I am prepared to up him again already. He was between 1.5 and 2.0u of N. So we're nearing that doseline. If it is true that lantus is lower potency...then he needs to go up. One more day at 1.5 and then I may go ahead and push for the 2.0u.

I don't know if it is bounce, resistance, or not enough? All pinks ...

Thank you all for checking in on us today!
