SOS different day....Alex got to 85 last night and was there for a few hours. His dose is probably too high still and I see a reduction in his future. Hopefully this is what is making his PS #'s HI and eventually we'll get there....

Someone pukused last night but I don't know who, however Alex has had some mushy stools and I think that may be because I took him off of S/O too fast which I always tell people not to do but I did it. Or that may not be it at all. I have been putting Culturelle in his food for 2 days but it hasn't been working so I started him on Flagyl this morning which always works for him so hopefully in a day or two he'll be back to normal. I mean his digestive system..not all of him :lol:

Otherwise, Alex is fine..a little snarky pants but basically purry and okay. He ate a big breffis although he had to be coerced with chicken dust cause he doesn't like turkey so much, all p's are n order and hopefully he will settle down for his nap soon. (He's wandering around the kitchen talking to 'something' now). I HOPE it's a something :?

didn't anyone ever tell you that when a cat wanders around talking to themselves or appears to be talking to "someone" and nobody is there....that's when you need to lock yourself in the bedroom and be afraid, be very afraid! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Come down from there Alex! I know he had pretty green 85 yesterday, but hoo boy this is a big ol' bounce. I'm glad he's doing ok and is his snarky self.

What does this mean... S/O ?

Alex always has blood in his urine(Jackson too). You can't see it but it's there. It could be from two tiny kidney stones that he has (Jackson has them also btw) or it could be from Interstitial Cystitis. My vet wanted me to try them on RC Urinary S/O to see if it helped. It's low carb but it's also loaded with salt which isn't great for Alex's heart but either is constant bleeding good for him. Regardless, A&J made the decision. After about 3 weeks on it...they started turning away from it. I mean they were really OVER IT :-|

So I switched them back to FF and now I'm trying Cosequin as I read Dr. Lisa's article that says it's used as a treatment for IC (if that's what's causing the bleeding). If it's the stones, nothing will help anyway.

Thanks..I'm sure it will be close to the same as yesterday! :razz:

As always, Alex would be the exception...he has done this since he was a baby. He has very interesting(I assume) conversations with..himself! :lol:

Ah, thanks for the explanation of S/O. I think I had seen it before and just couldn't remember what it was. And how interesting that Cosequin may help with Interstitial Cystitis.
I love it when I learn new things here!

I am giving that to my 16year old civvie for her joints and this could be helping her in other ways too. Cool! This kitty used to be my DD's kitty but I took her in when she got married and her DH didn't want the cat inside because the kitty started peeing in his shoes. She is a small Persian that had always been a lap kitty and 'outside' meant being vulnerable to the coyotes that roamed nearby. ..... Don't get me started.....grrrr.

have you tried feeding higher carb food at +1 and +2 when he starts that hight? It might help cushion the drop so maybe he won't bounce so high.
