9/9 Stu PMPS 169, +4 128

Good Morning Everyone,
Cold and rainy here today. I hope it clears up for the start of the 3-day canoe race tomorrow. We are going to be wet and miserable if it doesn't!! We don't paddle as the "pit crew" for our friend. We meet him at each of the portages to replenish his water supply and give him his powerbars and other food (there are 5 portages tomorrow--in the Adirondacks we call them "carries"--, the longest of which is about a mile). He has to carry his canoe and on the level carries he runs while carrying it. We have to keep up with him!! The total distance tomorrow is 33 miles, including the carries, two of which are on roads and the others on woods trails. The weather will be what it will be. So far they are predicting drizzle and fog in the morning, turning sunny in the afternoon, with a high in the mid 60s. I hope it won't be windy. Those conditions are the worst!
Stu is having a good morning. He ate all of the food in his automat and has enjoyed installments 1, 2 and 3 of breakfast. I gave him some 8% at +2 to slow down his drop. He took his Methimazole pill piece (I think; at least it didn't end up on the floor). All Ps in place. DH has gone back to bed and I think Stu just joined him. I, however, have to get stuff ready to take to camp this afternoon (even though we're coming back on Saturday morning, it seems as if we still have to take the same amount of stuff we would take for a week!!)

Nice yellow AMPS for Stu, and it looks like he's trying to get to the greens in a hurry. I hope he slows down a little! The canoe race sounds like fun, but exhausting....I hope the weather cooperates for you! It's definitely cooled down here.

It's cool and cloudy here, this morning, but clearing. Hope it's a gorgeous cool, dry weekend and you have lots of tiring fun. :smile:

Stu just texted Checkers and said he hopes you don't forget to pack the leftovers that he brought home from last night's party. Mmmm day old smoked salmon. Yum :lol:

Today is shaping up to be a copy of yesterday. I fed the 62 with some 8% + Karo, hoping to stabilize him in "good" green.
Still raining and cold. Boy am I ever glad the canoe race isn't starting today!!

Hey kitties, Tomorrow I'll be at camp all day while my beans are at the canoe race. I'd really like company. So far Mannie, Shadow and Raja are planning to come. All kitties are welcome. We'll do a little cooking and sit on the porch or the dock if the weather is nice and just hang out.

Those "carries" sound very strenous and exciting. I wish I could see that! I hope you have good weather and that you can keep up. Hopefully Stu will take a break from his scuba diving while you are at camp. He sure comes down fast!

Sounds like fun and sounds like a lot of work! It's really nice to be able to do the things that you love, isn't it! I'm very happy for you guys!!

Hi again, The Karo + 8 % seems to have stopped the drop. Fed a little more of the same at +4.75. Heading toward nadir now, so I hope he'll surf green this afternoon.

Hi again, Everyone,

Here we are at camp. It's pouring rain. COLD RAIN! We have 6 friends doing the 90-mile race that starts tomorrow and we sure hope that the weather will improve by morning. We'll be here in the morning until AMPS +2, so will hopefully get a read on where Stu is heading and leave the right food in his automat. Of course, lots of kitties will be here to keep him company, so they'll make sure he eats the right stuff.

On a less fun note: I decided to e mail Hypurrcat to find out what was happening with Stu's evaluation. They never received the "official" lab report of the urinalysis!! So I called the vet. He said he talked with them at length. But he also said that he did not send the urinalysis to a lab but did it in house. And it did not include a culture. So now we have to go back on Wednesday and have the cystocentesis all over again. I am disgusted!

All for now. Time for Stu's pill and then time to relax. See you all a bit later,

on a better note - very nice numbers for Stu. I hope he was a good traveler today. Mannie has his day pack all set and is ready to come to camp. He is so excited! Oh ugh, how aggravating about the cystocentesis!! I am sorry you guys (and Stu) have to go through all that business again, not to mention the time you've been waiting for the results. :YMHUG: I hope they can get some speedy results for you.

how far does one have to run carrying a canoe??? Yikes.

Have fun! My brother has done something like that in Florida and I keep saying that next time he goes, I'll volunteer to work at checkpoints or something just to be part of it. There's no way I could paddle for 3 or 7 days, I'm not even sure I could paddle for 3 or 7 minutes. :lol:
