That was a long night. I did give up the testing. Libby was right, it drove me crazy to keep seeing the high numbers. By +8 Harley was down and AMPS was good (hopefully not bouncing upward). I did make up my own color for 500's, since I could not see the number with the black. I would even take more pinks that the 500 color.

I'm glad to see Harley descended from the stratosphere. (Not that I think Harley should need to know this, but you can manually switch the test color to white on the black background. I do this with the blues and greens on Gabby's SS since it's easier to read.)

You might want to put Harley's name and AMPS in your subject line!!

Gee, I must have been so excited to see yellow this AM that I forgot to fill in the rest of the stuff. I am surprised that he is not crying for food. I only gave him 1/2 can of FF for breakfast.

I will try changing the numbers to white

Since I was going to be home today and Sunday, I was going to do a curve. After such a terrible bounce, should I still do a curve?

start with some early cycle tests, and see where it goes.

Hoping for a good cycle for Harley! :mrgreen:

Why not?
Even curves during a bounce (beginning, end, middle) can give you information that may be helpful. You may see its not the blues or yellows he is hitting that causes the bounces, but how fast he goes there. And maybe not. You may see he clears them in a cycle, but you miss it on an average day and only see the next bounce. Who knows!

I wouldnt do hourly. Maybe every 2-4? I would do 2-3hrs. But thats just me.

Do a curve? I am the wrong one to ask cuz I want to see it all!!
After a high, how long does it take Harley to come back down and stay down?
Don't know? Do a curve!
After a low, how high does Harley bounce or does Harley bounce?
Don't know? Do a curve!
Wonder where Harley's nadir is and if it's moved?
Do a curve!

I can't do much during the week, being away at work and all, so any testing I need to do in the eves or on the weekends.

After any abnormal event, I think I would want to do a curve to see the reaction to that event.
All curves are valuable info for the future; it all helps you to know how YOUR cat reacts to everything.

Curves are great!

maybe wait til tomorrow to do a curve, if you can? harley had quite a drop between amps and pmps so it would be good to allow another day for the numbers to settle.
re curve, some test every 2 hrs, others do a mini curve (every 3 hours).

I'm glad you didn't use R last night, Harley came down GREAT on his own. I guess he didn't like the black either.

I'm curious where he is now...

Just returned from a pot luck so I am late in posting. I did a curve on Harley today and I guess with really high bounce last night he stayed in the mid to high 300's all day. I am on the new bottle of lantus and hopefully this will make a difference. He is now 383 and seems hungry. I am going to wait another hour before giving him anything.
