HUGE thanks to Libby and Lucy for staying up super late last night walking me through high-carbing a very early dropping Johnny. You two are AWESOME!

Jill and Libby decided (I'd love to purchase your private Johnny discussion transcripts! ) that Johnny might be one of those cats who needs to eat 3% carbs and below, at least for the next few weeks or so. If he was 150 or above this a.m., the plan was to shoot. If he was below 150, the plan was to begin an OTJ trial. Naturally, Johnny threw out a PERFECT 150 this a.m. :lol: :roll: We're onto his tricks and Brian retested a minute or two later (basically a coin flip) and Johnny was 146. So, no shot! +1.5, he was 136, so I'm thinking we made the right decision. Either way, it's made now. :lol:

I probably didn't explain the plan so well, because I'm not quite with it. I just thought I should post an update before hitting the sack again for a few more winks of sleep.

:shock: Wow. I logged off around 1 am EDT and you were still at it. Boy, just the description of "gravy and honey" makes me want to hurl. This may well be the road you need to travel to hit the elusive OTJ mark. Go Johnny!

Johnny was 76 four hours after last meal. We got some EVO 95%, beef and the chicken/turkey. Johnny LOVED the beef, hoping the same for the chicken/turkey. Thanks for the suggestions! Off to visit some other condos!

71 @ +25.75 (four hours after last big meal). I hope the 0% carbs are helping out our friend Mr. P. All the kitties loved the EVO beef tonight, but the civvies seemed less satisfied and came back for more food. They silently stared and requested something else. We gave them the rest of the 2% FF we were feeding earlier. They were pleased.

0% for Johnny until further notice?

actually the Beef Evo is 2%, chicken/turkey is 0%, but whatever, it's still working great!

Whoops. We also got the chicken/turkey, too. The chicken/turkey is 0.46% carb and the beef is 0.64% carb. I thought that was close enough to probably be zero too. I can't believe that small difference could make it 2%! Crazy!

yeah, I don't know either, I'm just looking at Janet & Binky's chart. I'm not sure what would cause the difference.

I wonder if anything has been done to *strongly encourage* cat food producers to release carb content. Thank goodness for Janet & Binky's list. But it seems like this information should all be readily available on the food websites. Just checked out Fancy Feast's site, no carb info. WTH? Pondering...
