Tuscany and DH spent some time in the setting sun tonight - We are trying to let Tuscany have some more time outside - seems like she enjoys laying in the grass.
Tuscany is having trouble with walking on the tile floor - her bad leg slips out like she doesn't have traction. I saw her after leaving the litter box this am - all 3 steps til she got to the carpet were slips/falls.
I have called the vet. I have made her appointment for Thursday Sept 2nd at 6 pm. I am hoping that she remains the same til then -but at the same time hoping she deteriorates more cause listening to her purr, watching her enjoy eating I question why am I doing this now. I know that there really isn't probably a perfect time so I guess that day is as good as any. We will spend the next week giving her extra cuddles (as much as she allows) and giving her some more treats. She had some shrimp tonight....
In going thru some pictures I came across a picture of Tuscany and Merlot (GA) on a chair together. I remember that day - I had one old chair in the kitchen nook area that was next to the window. The cats liked to sit there and sleep and watch outside. Tuscany has always been more of a loner - she did not want to share that chair. Merlot was trying so hard to make her move or leave. I finally was frustrated at the two of them and took them both and "forced" them onto the chair together and gave them a talking to. They sat in that chair together that day - and several times in the next few weeks I would find them sharing the chair. It was very cute.
Tuscany has been a cat that really hasn't liked being held. She used to stiffen when you would pick her up and then complain after a short time. She would sometimes share the couch with you - especially with DH in these later years. She would sit next to him - touching his hand with her paw and giving him small licks. She used to sleep with us - but in spurts. She would sleep in the same spot for months then not sleep with you for months. She hasn't been in our bed for years now at the house but when we traveled on the boat or went up north she still would come to sleep with us.
Now a days - our cuddle time is us laying on the floor next to her... She'll tolerate us for several minutes - then will try to move - so we move instead.
Sorry if some of the recent posts seem rambling. It's just that I'm trying to wrap my mind around her essence and her leaving.
