Last night went better. I resisted giving Harley snacks every time he cried and he gave me better numbers. I did goof up and give sn at +10.5. This AM he was 302, better than most mornings - yeah! Hopefully I won't see a red. I just have to be strong about those snacks.

Everyone - have a good day.

Re: 8/24 Harley AMPS 302, +2 402

Obviously the AMPS 302 was part of the bounce to 402. I know people have replied that Harley is not use to being in the blue and the bounce is a reaction to that. Is there a way to stop the bounce, or even recognize that it is happening?

Hopefully, the bounces will get lower and eventually diminish to where there is not bounce anymore. It is all part of LTS...Liver Training School. The liver panics at lower numbers and floods the system with hormones that raise the BGs.
Not much one can do except to recognize it, hope that it is short lived, and bear up under it's ugly colors. Hopefully, Harley will start coming down now...and not go up any further....

Re: 8/24 Harley AMPS 302, +2 402

There are a couple of usual explanations for high numbers -- a bounce or not enough insulin are the two that immediately come to mind. I would look at those places where we note that Harley is bouncing (i.e., a lower number and a steady trend up) and see if you can see it as well. Sometimes, bouncing flattens out with more insulin. Otherwise, it's an issue of time and Harley spending more of a cycle in lower numbers so he gets used to being in those lower ranges.

All of you are the BEST! I am excited – hope is back. Every thing has happened today like you have been saying will happen. Although Harley went to 402, not very high in the 400’s like before, he fell into the 200’s in only a few hours. He would have stayed in the 300’s all day.

So, tonight we are off to a good start

302 AMPS
402 +2
317 +6.5
244 +9
229 PMPS
