Hi Lantus Land;

Peeking in to post today. Skippy is due for this first teeth cleaning so this morning I had an appointment with the Dental Vet in the South Shore of NJ which is on a normal non-summer day about 1.5 hours from my home. Today the weather was beautiful and I wanted a head start but woke up to a loving AMPS 86. He was purring all night. Had a delay out the door but made it in time. Prayed all the way down the shore that he would be ok. Put food all around the house.

AMPS 86 +1~49 (HC), +1.15~ 40 (HC), +1.30 50 + 1.45 (51), +2~58 +9~77, PMPS 139

The intro meeting with the dental vet was great. I felt comfortable with her practice. Next Saturday we will drive down with Skippy so she can have a physical to check for vitals for the anesthesia and then on August 30th at 11:30 I will be taking off work to drive him down for his first teeth cleaning and X-Ray. Thank you Hillary for guiding me through this and referring me to all the archives on the old Feline Diabeties Board for all the questions I e-mailed the doctor in advance. She was very impressed with all my questions as a lay person and I told her it was from my friends at the Board that helped and she was impressed. I told her his regular vet is somewhat useless when it comes to diabeties. She chuckled. His blood work was done end of July and everything came back great. His BG was at 175 at the time considering the high level of stress but the fructosamine test came 500+ which she felt the blood was hemolized and it kinda looks like that in all his results so I am not sure if I will do the fructosamine if his BG is good and the fructo high.

I am hoping things will go smoothly on August 30th. She did tell me that he needs to be aroudn 100-300 for her to do the cleaning. I will be discussing this all next Saturday. Hope everyone is doing great and wishing all the fur balls a happy Caturday!

Nice to see you here Birten.

Great day Skippy had after all! :mrgreen:
Nice to see you impress your vet too. :-D

wow, would you look at that cycle? :mrgreen: Good luck with the dosecrease, and with the dental.

Today is fun, lots of my "classmates" are stopping by here. It's nice to see the people who were here with Lucy, there aren't many left who are here on a daily basis.

Ronnie thanks for helping out this morning again! Good thing I left an hour late since she made me wait after I arrived. Libby I know what you mean such new condos and felines but a great board as I always repeat myself.

Wishing you good dental vibes....starting with them early doesn't hurt, right?
We just had one for Shadow this past Tuesday. Hope all goes well for you both!
