Good morning Lantus Land! We're back and we missed you all! Vacation was wonderful...camping in the forest w/the bears and raccoons was very relaxing and I'm sad to be back to reality, but happy to see that things are relatively going well on the board. Haven't had a chance to check out any condo's yet, but will do that later...after my btb'ing.

Spot and Mum did just fine while I was away, Neighbor did an awesome job getting needles ready and mum did a great job feeding where she needed to feed and testing (for the most part) where she needed to test. Spot went down to the 40's the past three days. His last two cycles are really good, and the last cycle was very flat.... I am considering trying a gum again, but not sure if the numbers reflect a tiny drop more of insulin since the neighbor was dosing or if it was Spot's Mr. P & Mr. L. So, I gave him his regular dose of 0.05u today and since I will be home, I can observe and test, and then decide.

WCR: Such a luv bug!! I got lots of kitty kisses at 3:30 am and again at 6:00 am and they didn't stop until I got up and rewarded him with a personalized walk to his timed feeder and to his breakfast dish. Very furry and purry for his tests and then after licking his bowl clean, spent the next 20 minutes sitting next to me on the chair, purring up a storm. He just jumped down, after getting an after breakfast chicken "mint" and it looks like he is contemplating his morning bath...ok, contemplation is over and the bath has begun. Spot is a happy camper!!!

Well, btb on my last vacation day....will visit condo's later, in between unpacking and laundry and general house work!! Have a great day Lantus Landers!!!!!

You saw bears? :o How is that relaxing?!
All I saw was a bunny and a salamander on my vacation last week! :lol:

Nice report! Spot must of really missed his mom!

Glad you're back!! Glad Spot is doing so fantastic!! Nature is always beautiful--
I'm going to Florida this weekend & expect to see the wild snowbirds :lol: :lol: :lol:

Bears?? way cool!! kinda scary, but cool at the same time. Bet Spot missed you, and his so glad his mum is home. have a good one - hope Spot is good too.

Welcome back!! It sure sounds like Spot missed you -- kitty kisses all night long!! Great AMPS!! I like your plan of waiting to see Spot's numbers before deciding on a Gum trial.

Hi Deb, Your vacation sounds neat! Did the bears raid your campsite?? That's always fun, keeping them away from the food! So glad to hear that everything went well at home during your absence. Welcome home!

Looking good! Yep, seems he is responding well here!! Had his snack early since I don't want him dropping to low. Spot enjoyed his btb'ing and is now He enjoying his second snack.

For the record...The bear spotting was done while we were on the road, on the way back from one of our sight seeing day trips. Since I had my eyes on the road, I did not see the bear, but my fellow campers did...and they said it was a young bear since it was smaller. Ella, no bear sighting at the camp site, thankfully. We made sure that no food was left out...put everything edible in the coolers and in rubbermaid bins and then locked them up in my Escape. I did hear a raccoon one night checking out the "trash bag"...only thing in the bag were beer cans tho, lol, and they didn't want that!!!

I did see a bear once...when I was in Deep Creek MD..actually I saw a mama bear and her two cubs....and we were out of the car, looking at homes that we would be interested in renting on our next trip. We went to the back of the house and when we were walking around back to the car, we saw the mama almost right in front of the car. That was pretty exciting!

Going up a bit, just gave him a little snack because he was meowing meowing so much.

Nice preshot! Looks like he is doing well on this drop of insulin. Gave him his pm dose, thinking of when I want to start the gum trial again. I get a bit nervous when this time comes around, especially with Spot's history! Just wondering if I should give it a few more days or not....decisions, decisions, lol!!!

Spot is hanging out in the 86!! Three tests in a row were 86. This is about as flat as flat can go, isn't it???

Well, going to get all snacks ready and go nini. Will set the alarm for +7 and see if he stays the same!!
