7/2 Tori AMPS 325 Second round of Chemo today

Morning everybody. First of all thank you so much to all of of you Beans and kitties alike for making Tori's birthday yesterday one that we will never forget. The outpouring of love was amazing. You have no idea how many times yesterday that I was on the verge of happy tears reading all your posts. It was a very special day.

Today it's back to reality. Tori must have enjoyed a bit too much of the wonderful treats at the party last night as her BG is back in the 300s. At least I won't have to worry that she'll tank at he vets today like I did last week when her preshot was 63. SHe gets her second round of chemo today. Hopefully she won't feel as punky as she did the last time. She'll also have her CBC taken today. So if you could send some healing vines and snowflakes and prayers our way that would be great.

Spot wanted me to tell you that he thoroughly enjoyed himself last night at Tori's party, so much that he has been snoozing almost all day. He is currently sleeping on his window seat in the bedroom, all snug as a bug. It certainly was one of the best birthday parties he's been to. Thanks so much for the invite and being such a wonderful hostess!

Hi everybody. Sorry I am so late posting an update.

Well Tori's vet appointment went OK I guess. It really stressed her out though. For the first time ever she peed and pooped in her kitty carrier as soon as she entered the clinic. I felt so sorry for her. It really must have hurt her dignity. She was so scared she was cowering in the carrier and didn't want to come out. That is not like her at all. Once Doug picked her up and soothed her for a couple of minutes she settled right down and was OK for the rest of the appointment.

First he drew blood for the CBC. Apparently her WBC is up and he's concerned that she has an infection brewing somewhere. He thinks most likely that the UTI she had isn't cleared up completely so he restarted her on the Clavamox. She will have a repeat CBC before her next chemo next Friday. Her physical exam was fine. He thought that the lymphoma in her neck felt marginally smaller. My son and I felt so too but it is really hard to tell if we all just want it to be smaller or it really actually is. She took her Cytoxan like a real little trooper . This week the chemo was oral and supposedly shouldn't cause as much side effects as the Vincristine. Next week will be the Vincristine again. By the time she left she was grooming herself and was much happier. Poor little girl.


I don't know I've been feeling really down today. Seeing her so stressed today really made me question whether I am doing right by her. Am I just making her remaining time miserable by treating her? I know though that this is the only chance she has. Am I wrong to try. Then of course there are the finances. Since May I have spent over $2000 at the vets already. We only have 23 more weeks to go. Can I do this? Of course I will somehow. I guess right now I'm just feeling overwhelmed. All I know is I want what's best for her and I want tor try to make her well. This is all normal right?

Tonight I start back to work. Vacation is over. To be honest I don't feel like I had a break at all. I'm sorry I'm rambling.
