Blackie had a little higher numbers last night and this morning. I'm hoping he'll come down. DH is gone today so petsitter will come in and get me a +7. I'm thinking we'll need to do a dosecrease, but will wait until we have a few more numbers - maybe tomorrow.

WCR: Blackie seems to be feeling fine. He's eating well except for the afternoons. He did vomit water again this morning. This is the 3rd pukus in 6 days - I don't know if I need to be concerned or not.

I bought a Breeze litter box for Blackie last night. He has not used it yet (I have it next to his old box), but I'm hoping he'll start soon. This should solve the problem of litter stuck to his feet.

I keep forgetting to ask: What are the P's? Sometimes I've seen 3 p's and 5 p's and I don't know what they are. I can guess on a couple, but not all. Peeing, purring, playing, ??

Blackie vomited water & a few blades of grass right before pmps, but he ate all his dinner and some of his timed food earlier today. We are still at 4.25 and I'm glad to see those blues today.

I'll do another check at +2 to see where Blackie is. I woke him from his after dinner/shot nap for the +1.

Looks like the rebound from the other day is clearing nicely. Great PM +2 number! Woohoo, Blackie!

Nice cycle today. I agree -- keep checking. This could be a flat cycle or Blackie may want more attention -- well, probably not the poking kind but he's gonna get the poking kind!!

Blackie must know that I have the day off tomorrow and he wants to make my "Friday" exciting. I fed another 1 Tb lc food.

Good, but a little scary. I let Blackie go outside, but I'm keeping an eye on him. I really hope he'll level off here.

a couple tsp of LC food might help throw Blackie onto his surfboard.

I fed him 1 Tb of lc at +3 and now he's 65 at +4. Is it time to test every 1/2 hour? Do I feed hc treats?

I fed another Tb of lc food. What do you think? (edit) Blackie acts like he's starving. I'm having a hard time keeping it to 1 Tb of food.

Hi, which lc food are you feeding ? Do you know what % of carb it is? Do you have anything that is higher carb without being HC? For instance I usually feed lc food 2-4 % normally. I have some 8-9% carb food that I pull out when dropping but not too low yet. I save the HC when I need to stop the cycle, when Tuscany is already too low - like the 30's or is low very early in cycle. Tuscany is very responsive to carbs and the 8-9% works well for her without making her numbers crazy.

I feed Wellnes 4% & Cowboy Cookout 5%. I have some Friskies Savory Shreds w/gravy and Meaty Bits w/gravy, but I can't find either on J&B's list. I also have some HC treats (Pounce).

These are good numbers. Surfing in the 50s and 60s is great! These are "good for the pancreas" numbers. If you are nervous, test in 30 min. If you need to get to sleep and don't have an 8% food, you can always mix some HC into LC food. Just don't use as much HC as if you were trying to make MC food.

ETA: And tomorrow's errand is to get some HC and MC food where you know what the carb count is!!

FYI: my 8 % is max cat gourmet classic lamb and turkey cutlet and the 9% is the california chicken supreme by same. Tuscany thinks it is candy when she gets it!

I agree with Sienne - the 50's and 60's are great numbers to hang out in - just scarey when you first start seeing them.
I sometimes do hedge my bets with the numbers and give maybe 1 or 2 dry treats (of what ever I have in house) after a test- but usually when the numbers are in the 50's or 40's and I don't yet want to break out any mc or hc. Not sure if it really does much immediately but I always hope that maybe it might give a small burst over the next short time. Could be just wishful thinking at just those few treats.

Beautiful surf. I was trying to figure out where Blackie's nadir is but it seems like it's a moving target. You should be around that time. Look at how the LC is keeping Blackie on his surfboard.

I think what Joyce noted is very true. Until you've done this a few times, it's a little nerve wracking. You've not had that many low greens yet to get excited seeing them.
