Since Lucian was almost 500 this morning, increased him to 2.25. Although it may be closer to 2.5, had one of those syringes that refused to adjust smoothly. :-x

It's pouring here, expecting up to 2" rain.........guess who's btb :?: Good day to sleep. I-) I-)

Deb,

Weather maybe something you will want to notice and add to your notes...Because that may also effect Lucian's BGs I know it does Autumn's. She will run much higher when there is a low pressure or a storm on its way than she will when it is high pressure and sunny out.

Actually now that you are above 2u you can raise by .5u at a time as that is only a 25% increase. Once you get below .5u then you go up or down by drops because that drop becomes a 10% increase or decrease.

I added a comment about the weather to his SS. :-D

His shot was probably closer to 2.5 than 2.25, it was one of those 'jumpy' syringes. I gave up. I'll keep it at 2.5 then.

218 looks good, but it's in that 'I'm not too hungry' area. Below about 250, he eats very little. :roll:

Must have something to do with that renal threshold. (SEE? I do pay attention) :razz:

Yep once he can start staying under the renal threshhold...no more organ damage is happening and the hunger will slacken, which is why mine all eat every 6 hours..lol

Every 6 hrs is about the same with my other cats. Only Lucian eats more often and then only when high. (!?) The high BG seems to have the same effect as some other substances, he gets cotton mouth and the munchies haha_smiley and goes to sleep. Guess I have a 'hippie' cat. ;-)

good question may have to try and find it here in the next couple of days. Nadirs can and do move around.

Oh just got the call today my new wedding band is in....told the DH that I'm giving him a do over for Valentine's day ...he has to come up with a romantic way to give me my new ring...lets see if he blows this one too...lol

He's a smart man, after the repercussions of Valentines, surely he'll come up with something. ;-)

Yeah, I may consider doing a curve tomorrow. Haven't bothered up until now, he was always all over the charts, ya know? Could just be a later nadir today. With the tests I have done, he was usually around +6.

Hey Mel, Lucian just had very loose bowels. I gave him about 1/4 can of that 8% Tuna after his last test about 30 ago. Maybe it doesn't agree with him in other than very small amounts? Hasn't had any of these problems before, his LB habits have all been normal since day one, with the exception of large urine puddles when he's high. In the last 1/2 hour, he has come around and meowed at me a couple times, for no APPARENT reason, wonder if his tummy was bothering him, the way it does before we have an issue. I guess he was telling me something was wrong. :sad: I think I will make it a point to not give him the tuna unless necessary for the additional carbs and then only in 1 teaspoon increments.
Thoughts? :idea: :?:

I have a civie here that will do that on tuna if it is more than just a bite or two, all other fush he is fine on, but tuna in large amounts gives him the runs. Also have another civie that pukes on tuna every single time. :roll: For awhile when Onyx was still alive it was a real food dance around here, he was allergic to beef, then the two that were allergic to tuna, and yet another that was allergic to chicken...Oy Vey!

If you have any regular pepcid in the house, not the complete stuff, you can give him a 1/4 of a tablet to help with the runny poops.

No pepcid, only zantac that I take quadruple doses twice a day, because of the gall stones. Have no pill pockets and have never been able to pill a cat, with or without. :-x

I'd rather not give anything at this point. Loose stools, IMO, means something needs to come out, it's natures way of getting rid of it. I won't take anything either unless it goes on for a couple days, I figure my body knows what it needs to do.

I only gave him the tuna cause he had eaten so little today. Will avoid that from now on. ohmygod_smile

It's the only one that Patches will actually eat, she won't do more than a couple licks of anything else. She's been the hardest to transition. :sad: So that's why I keep it on hand all the time, but will avoid it for Lucian.

It was so cold, damp and dreary today, I needed comfort food, so I made pintos and corn bread for dinner. :-D Actually wish I had an ice cold beer to do with it, but not going out to get one. :o About every 6 months, I get the taste for a cold beer and I buy 1 22 oz and don't finish that! :lol: Just in the mood for a taste. :-D

I never could drink beer, I'm deathly allergic to the hops in it, and go into antiflatic shock..so no cheap date here...lol. I never got into the whole wine pairing either since I love dry red wine, I figure everything goes with it. My favorite is a nice Merlot

I made teriaki (or however you spell it) chicken, and homemade fried rice for dinner tonight...yummo! Of course Autumn was mad because she didn't get to share with me, but really didn't think the pineapple juice in the sauce was too good for her.

I know you saved her a nibble of chicken, sans sauce. ;-)

My favorite is Merlot also, have found few cabs that I like and even fewer whites although I have taken a liking to pinot grecio when a soft white is appropriate.

Trying to get done with dinner, time to test, feed and shoot. :YMSIGH:
 
Yep that is a bounce with an upset tummy and new dose wonkiness. Tomorrow will be a better day as he settles some.

Good Morning Debbie! I just wanted to say hello as I haven't "talked" to you lately. Lucian had a beautiful blue yesterday. You tell him to get his little bum down from that ladder!!!
