I am going away for 3 weeks and need to leave my SO an EASY food list because he doesn't read labels when shopping- LOL
This is a working list of cheaper cat food in the larger cans. I don't use walmart special kitty because my cat hates it.
Bast is on 9% or under. I limit the higher carb ones but will mix them in for variety. I combined several food charts and tried to update using the manufacurer web sites of what they still make.

Feedback welcomed! I only list carbs and calories and the ones with 2 carbs are the ones that there are differences depending on the chart.

9 lives 5.5oz cans carbs calories
    *Ground Chicken & Beef Dinner 4 162
*Flaked Tuna in Sauce 2 147
    *Ground Chicken & Seafood Dinner 4 154
    *Ground Chicken & Tuna Dinner 4 161
    *Ground Chicken Dinner 4 159

    Misty,
I wanted to say "thank you" for putting this shopping list together. I've not been able to input any info because you said you were looking at the "larger" sized cans, and my boys eat the 3oz Fancy Feast Classics for the most part. But a nice easy to print out and take to the store list is a great idea!

Thanks Carl- I can't afford fancy feast unless I get a great coupon. I have 2 cats so I need to get the best I can afford. I just bought a huge batch of cans at petsmart with the 15% off coupon. That helped. The larger 13 oz cans are a great but limit the variety plus honestly it is easier on the way to work to pop a 5.5 can, dump it in the dish, smash with the lid, and add a can of water. The larger can has to be frigerated and dirties a spoon to get it out.

When I started one of the hardest thing was finding the right foods. If you are not doing FF the lists seem fustrating. When you see the prices of some of the other brands you wilt and feel overwelmed and worry you will not be able to take care of your fuzzy one. Bast has gone OTJ on this list and I have been watching for sales to get the cans for 40-50 cents a can.

Thanks for compiling this list! I go to my neighborhood mom&pop pet store, so I haven't checked out anything on this list besides the Friskies, but if the price is good, maybe I'll try some of them out  I've just printed it out to take with me shopping.

A thought - if you pop it into a Google Drive spreadsheet, you can set up formulas for price per ounce.
These would update any time you put in new pricing info. They could be downloaded, too. And, you could post the link.

Note that grouping by calories per ounce ranges is advisable, as you may feed more of lower calorie products vs higher calorie products.

If anyone want to make a spread sheet- go for it!
I don't have time this season as I am working 14 hour days ;-(
I barely got the list typed in- LOL
It is almost Christmas and the pile to do is still huge.
